Flybondi Review: A Brutally Honest Review in 2025!

You've heard of EasyJet and Transavia, but what are your options when traveling within South America? If you're in Argentina, consider Flybondi, a new low-cost travel airline.

What is Flybondi?

Founded in 2016, Flybondi is a low-cost Argentinian airline. The first of its kind in Argentina! Aiming to be the leader in low-cost flight travel in Argentina, their company slogan is La libertad de volar, which means "the freedom of flying". 

Their main airport bases are located in Buenos Aires and Córdoba. They offer minimal information about who they are and what they do. What is provided is only available in Spanish. 

Where does Flybondi fly?

While Flybondi does fly internationally within South America, the vast majority of their destinations are located in Argentina.These are the current Flybondi Argentinian destinations:

What's the Flybondi Fleet?

As a smaller airline, Flybondi currently operates with a fleet of 7 aircraft. All of which are Boeing 737-800s, each carrying up to 189 passengers.

What can I carry with me?

Budget airlines like Flybondi tend to offer smaller luggage size allowances. For carry-on luggage, your bag cannot exceed 30cm x 20cm x 40cm, and it can't weigh any more than 6kg. For flights to or from Brazil, the weight limit increases to 10kg which must be stored under the seat while onboard.

Overweight baggage will be charged by kg. So if you think your bags will be overweight, save money by pre-purchasing larger baggage allowances online. 

Pre-purchase a larger baggage allowance by navigating to the "Manage my flight" section of Flybondi's website. There is a 9kg option for carry-ons and 12kg or 20kg for checked luggage. Your checked luggage must not exceed 158cm in height, width, and length.

How do you check-in for Flybondi?

When flying with Flybondi, you should always check in online to save time and money. Online check-in begins 48 hours before your flight and 180 minutes before the flight if at the airport. 

How do you choose a seat with Flybondi?

Flybondi allows you to pay to choose a seat or be assigned a random seat for no cost. If you choose not to purchase a seat, your seat will be randomly assigned at check-in. If you aren't happy with your seat assignment, you can opt to change it for a fee. 

Paid seat selection can be added at the time of your ticket purchase. If your seat is changed to a lower-cost seat at any point, you will be refunded the cost of your seat. 

Canceling a Flybondi flight

Even the best-laid plans can sometimes go awry. So what happens when you cancel your flight with Flybondi? 

Canceling your flight can be done at any point, but Flybondi does not issue refunds for the ticket or any additional services you may have purchased. If applicable, you may request a refund on any boarding fees. 

However, all tickets are eligible for flight changes. You will have to pay the fare difference if there is one, and there is also a charge of ARS 1000—approximately $8 USD—for each ticket changed. Flights can be changed anytime up to 48 hours before departure.

If you have any questions about your Flybondi flight, you can visit their FAQ page on their website. It isn't very robust, but thanks to Google translate, it is in readable English.

The only other method of contacting them is via a chatbot on their website, which operates in Spanish. Their social media pages are also an option. 

Does Flybondi offer food in flight?

As a low-cost airline, Flybondi serves food on board at a cost. They have a limited menu of snacks and sodas, which can be purchased once your flight has departed. You can see their onboard menu here. 

Customer Reviews

As a newer airline, Flybondi doesn't have that many reviews or traveler experiences to pull information from. In terms of quality of service and amenities, many travelers note that you get what you would expect from a low-cost airline. 

The most frequent complaint is how difficult it is to contact the airline. As with most budget airlines, finding someone to speak with about delays, cancellations, and other problems will prove to be difficult. 

Lately, several travelers also commented about last-minute flight changes, both in regards to departure times and departure airports. This, compounded with difficulties in reaching Flybondi have made for poor travel experiences.

Is Flybondi worth it?

Overall, if you're okay with flight changes and traveling very light, Flybondi could be worth exploring. Their low-cost flights mean that they'll be budget-friendly, but be prepared to pack light, possibly being hit with random fees—overweight luggage tends to be the culprit. 

Additionally, there are little to no contact details should you need support, and their website is entirely in Spanish. So you will need to feel comfortable booking your flights online in Spanish or using the auto-translated variant.
