This hotel was an absolute gem! I started a chat with the hotel the day before we arrived and asked if we could store our bags at the hotel, since we would be VERY early. They said it was no problem a...This hotel was an absolute gem! I started a chat with the hotel the day before we arrived and asked if we could store our bags at the hotel, since we would be VERY early. They said it was no problem and they looked for ward to seeing us. Fast forward to our arrival, and we checked in and they gave us our room right away! Lobby/hallways: The lobby is well done and cozy. There is plenty of room to get around and the bar is immediately to the left when you walk in. Everything was very clean and in good order and the front desk was always staffed. The elevators and hallways were all clean, smelled pleasant, and well lit with soft lighting. The whole lobby and walkways experience was very “warm” and luxurious. Room: I really loved the room. It had antique/original Spanish tiles on the floor, a coffee maker, an iron, and a decent closet. The bedding was comfortable, the pillows were plenty, and the bathroom provided soap and all the hygiene essentials. The pillows were fine with me; however, my husband thought they were a bit flat (everybody has different preferences). There was a nice window that opened for fresh air and blackout curtains that worked perfectly. Most importantly, the room was very clean! Breakfast: Breakfast was free for us due to status and it was quite a breakfast! There were plenty of options to choose from and a very helpful staff to help seat you and take care of your table. It was buffet style but everything was fresh and styled for the area we were in. It was one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Overall: Fantastic stay with a great hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to any travelers who want to be central and near some great food.Show More

Location is perfect, close to everything. The hotel is about less than a minute away from Passeig de Gràcia which is known for its high end shopping, good restaurants, and also where you’ll find Gaudi...Location is perfect, close to everything. The hotel is about less than a minute away from Passeig de Gràcia which is known for its high end shopping, good restaurants, and also where you’ll find Gaudi’s masterpieces. The hotel has good restaurants where we really enjoyed the food, breakfast lunch and dinner. The staffs are really the reason why I would come back to this hotel. The service was excellent. Juanjo Andres assisted me with everything. I was traveling with my 92yo mom who uses electric wheelchair. He made sure that mom will be comfortable. I changed my travel plans so many times and Juanjo never stopped assisting me with my bookings and requests. He continued to answer my emails and assisted me last minute when last minute my niece tagged a long. Carlota also assisted me to extend my booking and provided us a wheelchair for mom to use in the hotel. The gentlemen who assisted us with the wheelchair, thank you so much. Great staffs, excellent service.Show More

PROS: Superb location next to shops, restaurants, and architectural landmarks, with tons of transportation options Beautiful, modern room overlooking Calle Mallorca (obviously rooms will have different views/access to natural light, and I can only speak of the one I stayed in) Very friendly and attentive staff High cleanliness standards Nice little touches like lemon infused water in the lobby, comfy slippers in room, etc One of the best hotel showers I’ve ever encountered Comfortable beds Beautiful outdoor patio in a quiet courtyard to relax with a drink or have a bite Did I mention the attentive staff? CONS: Pillows. Down feather pillows are not the way of the future. Leaving aside the possibility of triggering allergies in some people, they are just plain uncomfortable. There are some amazing synthetic pillows to be had these days, offering more comfort and neck support which probably also cost way less than down. There is no reason a hotel of this caliber should not be able to do better in the pillow department than the sleep deprivation devices they’ve currently got. Breakfast is blah. Not bad, just nothing special and not much variety. IN SUMMARY: Would stay again, but would get a room-only rate next time and have breakfast at the bakery around the courner.Show More

Alexandra hotel located right at the center between two major busy streets where you can find multiple stores, restaurants and other venues. We took tour bus around Barcelona and stop was a few minutes walk around the corner. Walk to Sagrada like 20-25 minutes. We loved breakfast there. During our travel we saw different one but this one was compact but with everything you need, fresh, the dont put too much of different product on shelf but for example made several fried eggs put in the buffet and as soon as they run out several more made again, everything look great and fresh. Here we come to main point and thus is employees. We were observed their great work and how they replenish everything and keep it clean. They take great pride in their work and we also want to mentioned one gentleman who with his wonderful smile and service went above and beyond. Unfortunately I cant recall his name but from conversation later understand that he may retire soon. This hotel luvky to have employees like him. Front desk staff, bellman all went above and beyond. Please compliment them for making our stay great.Show More
