We spent two nights in Singapore at the arena Bay Sands so that I could swim in the 150 m infinity pool on the roof that hotel was the best value, but the price is very greatly this hotel in Bangkok ...We spent two nights in Singapore at the arena Bay Sands so that I could swim in the 150 m infinity pool on the roof that hotel was the best value, but the price is very greatly this hotel in Bangkok what’s the most helpful in combination of value, beauty and variety of amenities. Amarin a chief concierge is especially not worthy but so is the staff in the 34th floor members club. I dealt with 3X receptionist who also excellent very attentive without being obsequious or overly intrusive. The gym was excellent with free weights, treadmills, and weight machines and other things like elliptical I think but I didn’t check them out. There’s a scale also. Various infused waters water dispensing is all over the place in the lobby, the lounge, the pool, etc. if you get dehydrated easily like me. We did find the bar on the top floor to be super both with you specialty drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The Chinese restaurant was greatly disappointing. My wife is severely allergic to schrmp. We are both physicians so this is not an exaggeration. They had schrimp in every dish except the fried rice apparently they cook with shrimp oils and sauces. so even the peking duck which was excellent and a pork dish had shrimp exposure, leaving only steamed and fried rice and desserts for her to eat all the noodles had shrimp wontons had shrimp so wherever prepared this menu needs more training. Capitol very disappointing. The staff was quite accommodating and offered to go down to the buffet on third floor and select stuff for her but by that time my wife was sufficiently frustrated because I think it was three orders that she placed and then some minutes later, it came back and said she couldn’t have it so that tends to make one lose their appetite. The hotel is in a good part of town but not as good as the JW Marriott JW is more expensive and essentially the same as this hotel, although we didn’t stay there. Taxi service is a problem apparently citywide, including here use grab like armor suggested or you will get ripped off with the price even some taxis with grab will try to up the price that they have agreed to don’t do it. And encourages more of this crap dishonesty, which apparently Bangkok is known for. Same with Phuket another traveler told us that Cambodia is like Thailand 20 years ago. They were so happy to have tourist customers that they treated you well but now Thailand has moved onto the stage of lits rip off these rich bastards who don’t deserve the wealth that they have still it’s a fabulous place to visit, but I would skip the whole Phuket Island although if you’re gonna stay at the JW Marriott there and not go outside your facility that is very good. Also, the elephant to her though at Phuket was a highlight of my wife’s trip so I’m contradicting myself PP Island pong in itself were terrible. If you can find a place to go to a secluded beach on those islands that would be worth it, but don’t take the Tours. You have to wait in line to get to the beach from the movie the beach with DiCaprio and then when you get to the beach, you can’t swim you can’t even take a personal picture without other selfie people and professional photographers taking up your few space.Show More

My husband and I stayed here from August 19th through 22nd. We arrived super late from our flight and the front desk person Syfah was great. We arrived super late from our flight and the front desk person Syfah was great. She greeted us, help with our check-in and spoke both Thai and English to us. Made us feel comfortable. The next morning we met Fahsai and she was the attendant for the lobby area. She was warm, polite and friendly. It gave is comfort and trust. We were able to converse with her everyday after. We got her to help us order some dietary supplements over the phone. She took us to the concierge person Amrin and he got our item delivered to our room. I was so happy and thankful. He is amazing. Our housekeeper (ma ban) was young and polite. We asked for extra bottles of water and she made sure we had extra water everyday after. What I did notice as she took off her shoes before entering our room. I was amazed at the level of respect for our home away from home. I use to inspect rooms in the U.S. and I believe this was the best service I have ever seen. Thank you Marriott Bangkok The Surawongse hotel, staff and team for making us feel at home. Best stay away from home. Rooms are stunning. Pool area is beautiful. Rooftop bar is excellent. Staff from Bell service, room service, front desk, lobby attendant and concierge is top notch. Highly reccomend this hotel, it is in walking distance to a few highly ranked food eateries. 10 mins walk a ferry and about a 6-7 mins to a train.Show More

Kyo and Wat at the concierge desk were rockstars and helped me out greatly (I had left an item behind at an airport, and they went above and beyond helping me get it back)! We were lucky enough to have a large upgraded room due to status, but we would have had the exact same good experience with any room there. If you have access to the lounge, it really helps out having a great dinner spread to enjoy with the views. The breakfast at the restaurant was probably one of the biggest spreads I've ever had at a hotel. Make sure to enjoy the rooftop pool. We definitely spent a lot of time up there, reading and enjoying the views while dining on the smashburgers. If you're ever in Bangkok, I'd have to recommend this hotel.Show More

She managed the floor wonderfully and her genuine smile made the entire evening even more warm and enjoyable. Congratulations. The atmosphere, music, drinks, and animations at the Yao Rooftop Bar were all very well done — this place truly deserves to be more widely known and more highly awarded. The breakfast at Praya Kitchen was great as well. And although I didn’t have time to try it, I noticed that the hotel also has a large swimming pool.Show More
