That's what the Boston Marriott Copley Place is able to achieve in the heart of it all. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite guest, so I know what great looks and feels like and I can confidently say that this is a solid option in the middle of it all in Boston with a great M Club Lounge. My partner and I were in town for work and a little play. This hotel is a high volume, high energy convention hotel that is attached to Copley Place Mall and Prudential Center, with a large Yard House on the ground floor, providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the hotel. All the amenities of a large hotel are there: 24 hour fitness center, indoor pool, Starbucks in lobby, renovated M Club, more. You can tell that this hotel was built in the 1970s but was recently modernized and renovated to look and feel 2025. What's Wired (Highlights) 1. Overall the staff are very accommodating. From the check-in woman to the front office manager, I could tell that they wanted to make sure my partner and I were well taken care of. While we received a complimentary suite upgrade for being Titanium, we had some issues with it (see Tired section), and they went on a journey with us to find the best suite for our needs. We appreciated this. 2. Public areas and rooms are recently renovated and reflect the modern aesthetic standard for Marriott hotels. Most rooms and suites have hardwood-like floors which make them feel larger and cleaner. The beds were comfortable 3. The hotel is in the center of it all. You can easily walk, take the subway, or Uber to nearly anywhere you want to go in Boston. We walked to Newbury Street and used the subway to get to the wharf. The Concierge team at the desk to the right of the Front Desk are super helpful with directions and recommendations. 4. The M Club, complimentary for Platinum + Bonvoy Elites, has been recently renovated and has (for North America) very good spreads for breakfast and evening appetizers. This complimented our stay so much and we loved the flexibility of it. My only recommendation is to reduce the prices of the alcohol (a glass of chardonnay should not be $15 in the M Club). 5. You can valet or self park (garage is attached to hotel) but be prepared to sign your liver away for the nightly cost ($80+). What's Tired (Improvement Opportunities) 1. For some reason (I assume because it is a conference hotel), all suites have at least one connecting door, with some suites having two connecting doors. Unfortunately, the connecting doors let in a lot of obtrusive noise from the neighboring room(s) and it creates a disruptive experience. I can't imagine it would be easy, but I recommend the hotel wall over some of the doors. We had to move suites because the noise from neighboring rooms (2 connecting doors) was just too much. 2. The elevators were modernized with the ability to select your floor before entering the elevator cab but they are still relatively slow and wait times can be extended during busy periods. 3. The towels and sheets feel thin and cheap. 4. 4PM Late Checkout was honored for Titanium Elite guest with no question. Overall, this is a solid option for staying in the heart of Boston, especially if you are a Marriott Bonvoy member.Show More

I'm more of a mid-range kind of guy, though I must say this was a great experience, from booking to check-out. Given the government shutdown, I opted to take the train from Philadelphia. The Marriott is within easy walking distance from the Bay Bay Boston train station, so I had no need for an Uber. Jerry checked me in, and he immediately made me feel welcome. Even though I had made a mistake on my booking dates, he helped me fix this - it could have been a problem, but he handled it like it was routine. Thank you! The elevator system is straight-up cool. Select your floor from a touch screen, and you are directed to the car that will deliver you to there most quickly. The room was quite comfortable. I did have a couple of technical problems (the remote not working, the light near the closet not working). I believe it was George who came and diagnosed both problems and fixed them quickly. My suit did not enjoy the train ride to Boston, and I was in danger of looking unkempt for my talks. I was able to get next-day service (same day is available if you are early enough) to have my suit cleaned, pressed, and delivered to my CLOSET for a very reasonable price (management, please don't look at this, but I think I pay more at home). There is an on-site restaurant, but I did not try it because I was traveling alone. #sad, but there is a supermarket (StarMart) right across the street with plenty of lower-cost food options, including prepared food. I did try some other places - it's Boston - there are more restaurants and bars within walking distance than I could possibly sample in a short trip. There's also plenty of shopping (from very high-end stores to more down-to-earth) that you can get to without going outside, if you are into that. The conference center is one of the best I've ever attended and used. The rooms were easy to navigate, had ample seating, and were well-equipped for presentations. I'm not sure if the technical staff worked for the hotel, but they were totally on the ball. It is my custom to comment on fitness options for travelling athletes. I'm going to give Marriott Boston Copley bonus points for this one: in the hotel fitness center, there are printed handouts about two local running options. **Why doesn't every hotel do this?** Maybe because not every hotel is close to the Charles River trail. It's about 0.4 miles from the front door, and the views are gorgeous. The flyer was for an 8 1/2 ish mile loop, though I'm pretty sure you can stretch it out for more. There is a short indoor lap pool (I estimate 15 yards), and plenty of treadmills, but I took advantage of the beautiful days to go outside. In summary, I felt that the Marriott people had taken notes from travelers like me over the years and designed a hotel to make a stay as good as it can possibly be. The staff was focused on making sure I had the best experience possible. I'd be very glad to stay here again, even if I need to buy my breakfast. :)Show More

Duck tours across the street. The hotel is clean, for us the M Club was worth the cost, as not only did you get breakfast and water to take with you, but extras during the course of the day. Although the hot breakfast each day is scrambeled eggs as opposed to another type of egg. There is however alwasys muffins, (blueberry and English) toast, other pastries, great cut fresh fruit, along with apples, oranges, etc. cereal, oatmeal, regular and turkey sausage. Several types of water, juices and sodas. Rooms are spacious and clean and if you are lucky enough you may get a view of the Charles. The hotel is pricey, but then again all hotels in Boston are that way. The beds are comfortable, the staff except for the concierge are friendly. He appeared to be a bit snooty and spoke down to people as if ...how dare you do not know that. The Yard House was mixed for us, the sandwiches were good ( the wait was about 40 minues for take out after being told 20) but the salmon and veggies we felt very undercooked, we could not even cut our carrotts or broccoli with knife and fork.You are charged a destination fee, but they give it back to you in $20 food credit per night at the Yard House, tickets to View Boston at the Pru, ( take advantage of that as those are costly and seein the view at sunset is awesome, and app usage for a scavenger hunt or Freedom Trail ( the app did nt work in our 4 days there) Would recommend the hotel .Show More

I stayed here for an annual event, and the experience was generally positive. My room was clean, and the staff were helpful. However, I did encounter an issue with the hot water—at one point, it stopped working entirely. The hotel promptly sent a technician who fixed it, but the problem returned the very next morning. Unfortunately, I had to shower and shave in cold water before an early business meeting, which was quite inconvenient. The hotel did offer compensatory points, which I appreciated. One ongoing frustration I have with prestigious hotels like this one is the mismatch between high room rates and the low-quality in-room amenities. Items such as the coffee and toilet paper feel noticeably cheap, which doesn’t align with the price point and overall brand image. It’s difficult to understand why such basic comforts are compromised. Additionally, I have concerns about the security of the property. It appears that anyone can walk into the hotel—not just the lobby, but even up to the guest-room floors—without being stopped or screened. In a building hosting large numbers of people, this seems like a significant concern. There is nothing preventing someone from entering the elevators and accessing any floor. While this may not be unique to this hotel, it is an issue I’ve noticed in many properties in the area. Overall, my stay was fine, but these issues are worth noting for future guests and for the management’s consideration.Show More
