We have stayed at this hotel five times over the years. Last time was 3 yrs ago and it was very nice and the location is great, but now it has been purchased by another company. The carpets were stain...We have stayed at this hotel five times over the years. Last time was 3 yrs ago and it was very nice and the location is great, but now it has been purchased by another company. The carpets were stained, there are black marks on the walls which they tried to paint over and made a mess, the room bed side light didn’t work until we moved the bed away from the wall and fixed the cord so it would stay in the outlet, the refrigerator was broken when we arrived and unplugged so we had to get a new one delivered. The bathroom shower was full of mold, hot water in shower wasn’t consistent, wood trim was scratched, pictures on the walls were actually coming out of their frames, paint was coming off the bathroom ceiling, the bathroom pocket door was broken and wouldn’t close, paint had been touched up on the bedroom ceiling with the wrong paint, there were burn marks on the carpet, only one elevator was working and looked like someone was learning how to paint inside on the trim, no one answered the phone when we would call the front desk so we had to go down personally all the time and we noticed multiple people with the same problems. On checkout at 6am there was no one at the desk or a parking attendant, computer was on, packages on the desk but no one around. But after knocking on every door in the lobby and yelling hello we called the 800 number and they said they didn’t know what to tell us. So we started knocking on the doors again and yelling hello and a person came out from the back obviously he had been sleeping in the back. Totally not safe. Even the taxis driver mentioned the place is in bad shape because the new owners don’t want to invest any money into it. They also charge $30 a day resort fee!!! It includes WiFi, in room coffee maker, a tiny discount on a trolley tour, premium location of a historic hotel? And they will accept packages for you plus free water. In room coffee was horrible cheap coffee, they hadn’t had water for guests for days. The total list of just plain neglect is even longer. They also wanted $50 to check in 2 hrs early. Just a rip off. Expensive, plus the daily resort tax of 30 dollars which includes WiFi-good signal-and complimentary water however this has to be asked for and collected from reception in the lobby. No fridge in room unless you pay an extra 20 dollars per night. Large bedroom but only one armchair for relaxing. No complaints as such but could be such a better experience with the following suggestions: -doors to the Juliet balcony that actually work -sliding bathroom door that slides rather than being dragged -kettle, tea and milk in the room instead or in addition to coffee maker and creamer -deliver complimentary water to rooms -fridge in room should be included -quieter aircon/heating unit -soundproof the rooms so you can’t hear the adjacent bathrooms being used -reception staff that smile and are welcoming -allow food and drinks in the restaurant/bar to be charged to you room (having already held 100 dollars per night on a credit card) -refurbish the decor and furniture in bedrooms -sofa or additional armchair for relaxed seating in bedrooms -increase the water pressure in showers Overall had a lovely city break in Boston but wouldn’t say this was a 4 star hotel in its current state.Show More

Our pet friendly hotel in heart of Boston welcomes your pets with additional accommodations including water bowls and toys, as well as proximity to the Green Way for walks and fresh air through the city. The Bostonian allows leashed dogs throughout the hotel public areas, with the exception of our restaurants and the Fitness Center. For guests who have allergies, The Bostonian also offers designated pet-free floors. We offer packages included doggy bags, treats, dog beds, water and food bowls. Pet Policy We ask that your pets occupy the same room, weigh less than 25 pounds and are not left in the room unsupervised. If your pet needs to be left in the room unsupervised it must be crated in case staff members need to enter the room in the event of an emergency. Upon arrival, guests will be charged a nonrefundable $75 pet fee. Additional cleaning fees may result if Housekeeping deems it necessary. Pets are not allowed in the restaurant, fitness center, or meeting space. Failure to comply with the Hotel Pet Policy may result in being asked to leave without refund.
