We were placed in an eighth floor room (converted attic space) with a sloping roofline that prohibited access to one side of the bed, no window (skylight only), a chair that fell apart upon first use,...We were placed in an eighth floor room (converted attic space) with a sloping roofline that prohibited access to one side of the bed, no window (skylight only), a chair that fell apart upon first use, a safe that was inoperative, and an air conditioner that did not work. After the temperature reached 80 degrees in the room we reported the non-functioning AC and went out to dinner. Upon returning we were assured the AC problem was solved. Unfortunately the desk agent that was helping us did not know the AC system had been turned off for the building and she was unaware that the skylight could be opened to ventilate the room if it was not raining. As a result, we spent the night in a sweat box that was close to 85 degrees. Additionally there was a woman screaming on the street or a floor below that made it impossible to sleep. The next day the manager moved us to a great room on the first floor and apologized for the error of the desk agent. Unfortunately the apology and move did not make up for ruining our 3 day stay in Paris. If you get stuck in a marginal room, object immediately and ask for a change. The hotel is centrally located, clean, and well appointed.Show More
