I have to start by pointing out I am a Diamond Hilton Rewards member so some perks were free of charge and very welcome indeed. That said I believe in fair reviews stating both good and also possible areas of improvement.
Firstly the good, I had contacted the hotel a couple of times before
Arrival to ensure our room was not released due to our very late arrival. This shouldn’t have been a worry as everything was in good order when we did finally arrive the following morning from our booked arrival day. At check in they were fully aware of everything.
A room upgrade to a slightly larger exec family room and access to the Exec Lounge on the 31st floor which we made good use of.
So check in was swift and straight to our room to chill and grab a couple of hours sleep.
Complimentary gifts of chocolates, ducks, petals, cookies and water, all very warmly received, thank you.
The room itself was spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed lots of storage and plenty of hangers. Bathroom again spotless, soft towels and plenty of complimentary toiletries should we have forgotten anything. Shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water too. A great start.
The pool on the 4th floor although small was more than adequate although very close to the conference suite making it a little uncomfortable when the conference broke out for coffee or lunch and you were swimming or lounging in pool wear. Also maybe a sign outside the pool bar saying private event may help resident guests not to use the bar instead of being almost told off by pool staff when looking for the rest room, I am not a mind reader.
As I said we made full use of the lounge on the 31st floor where members of the team did a Stirling job at keeping glasses full, food fresh and appealing with a great choice of everything from Soft drinks, coffee, tea, wine, spirits & cocktails. Breakfast here was also a relaxed chill affair and a great way to start the day with fabulous views no mater which window you were seated by.
Now for the not so good.
We also ate breakfast a couple of times in-the main restaurant downstairs , this can only be described as a free for all with very little chance of getting a second cup of coffee, trust me I tried many times. On one occasion I asked 3 different people and finally 20 minutes later a cup finally arrived. And don’t get me started on the lottery that is getting your hands on a glass of orange juice.
One notable exception to this and the reason we risked 2
mornings in the main restaurant was the fresh Masala Dosa, if this had been available in the Exec Lounge we would not have ventured down to Oscars for breakfast at all
Minor gripe I know but worth mentioning I think.
The only other teeny tiny issue we encountered during our stay was
In the Main lobby bar one evening and was dealt with swiftly and professionally by Matthew.
All in all a great start to our time
in Singapore and I would not hesitate to re-book.Show More
