After 2 men and 6 hours they decided we had to move to another room , so pack everything up and move down a floor. Not as good a view, but I guess things happen, desk girls were very nice about it. Next morning, bathtub didn’t drain as you showered so you stood in your soapy water as you showered then had to rinse your feet as you got out. Our friends were staying in the same hotel, stopped to see us, he mentioned a $200 hold charge put on his card for incidentals, ok, places do that.. I looked at my CC app and saw I had a $119.72 hold charge on ours (same room, 2 people in the room just like our friends) curious about the strange amount I called downstairs to ask about it.. the man at the desk was not very nice and when I asked why the charge he said in case of incidentals and I said why the odd amount compared to our friends $200 amount. He sarcasticly said “Well, I can charge and other $80 to your card if that will make you happy” that took me by surprise as I was just curious about it.. I said hey, no need to be so snotty, I just asked a question and he said “and I answered it”. I said may I speak to the manager please, he said “if I can find one”. Then put me on hold for 10 minutes most likely thinking I’d get tired and go away. I got dressed and went down to the lobby, he sat there alone playing on his phone. I asked for a manager, he said I’m one.. I said but you are the one I want to talk to the manager about. He said I’ll try to find one. He disappeared for 10 minutes (I had walked across the lobby out of his hearing) he came back with someone and pointed me out. The man was very nice, introduced himself as the food and beverage manager and asked how he could help me. He brought a pen and note pad and wrote down everything I said. He was very considerate and professional. He said he would relay my complaint to the general manager in the morning. We went down for breakfast the next day and I stopped at the desk and spoke to the ladies at the desk who were again, very nice and shocked someone said that kind of thing to their guests, they called the operations manager, Shawn. Shawn came and was very professional and kind. He said he wasn’t happy for the man’s behavior and would take care of it. Would I go back to that hotel? No, too expensive for a older hotel, the breakfast buffet a few pans with , scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit ….wasn’t as near as good as the free continental breakfast you would get in a Hampton or comfort inn and was over $80 for 2 people. So you decide… I won’t go back.show more
