Had a standard double and it was certainly disappointing. The room was a shape of a triangle, there was no space to move in the bathroom without a tight squeeze around the door. The decor is non existent and all the furniture appeared to be sprayed with some red lacquer paint. The air con was an obtuse system. Despite the instructions saying to place your key card in the slot before using, our room had no ‘slot’. The air con took around 1/2hr to increase by 0.5deg so we huddled under the covers for a few hours to wait for it to rise from 18deg. There is no minibar just a leaky wet fridge. The whole ultimate vibe of the place is its very run down. They don’t trust customers to pay for anything on checkout. All room service all breakfast had to be paid there and then. My advice to them is you have to give trust to gain trust. There were certainly no room upgrades offered like some other reviews mentioned even though the hotel was half empty . The checkout was cold as in ‘place key in box and leave’, absolutely no hospitality in this ‘hotel’ no ‘how was your stay’ and the ladies at reception spoke little to no English which I’m sorry but surely is a qualifying factor for customer service in the centre of London. The location was the only reason we stayed here as it was close to our hospital but we would never stay here again, do not recommend unless they reduced the fees significantly we paid £170 a night.Show More

A call to reception and eventual visit changed nothing. Although I was assured that they would take care of the situation. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they weren’t available. The next morning, I was woken again by hammering, drilling and sawing inside the hotel. With two calls to reception, I was told they would stop but this was again to no avail. At the desk is was “welcomed” by a miserable blonde lady that showed nothing but disdain. Again, I was told that the manager was not available. I asked that the manager contact me by email. I never received any message. I highly recommend staying elsewhere. Will never return here. The rooms were relatively dirty. The remote control was covered in food and dust. There were no power sockets near the beds and you wouldn’t want to touch the dirty surfaces. This is a hotel run with low effort.Show More

We got a bit confused with the layout, as you have to go past what looks like the entr...We were pleasantly surprised at this hotel. The location is great, really close to St John's Wood Tube Station. We got a bit confused with the layout, as you have to go past what looks like the entrance and go in through a driveway and car park area at the back in Park Road. The Reception area is lovely. We were greeted by Angha (I think), and told our room wouldn't be ready until 3pm, despite a Secret Escapes 2pm check-in. However, we sat down for 10 minutes and Angha came and found us to say our room was ready, a little after 2pm. Room 808 was great, a bit dated, but we were only there to sleep, out all day. Comfy bed, nice shower, a quiet room. Breakfast was plentiful, cooked and cereal, yogurt and fruit. There were plenty of restaurants along St Johns Wood High Street for dinner. We tried Babbo, Italian, and Soutine, French, which were both lovely. I would definitely stay here again. Camden market is a half hour walk along the canal, a nice place to spend some time.Show More

MARIANA clearly made our visit and reception into the hotel very special! All the staff at the hotel were outstanding. If any issues occurred, they were quickly rectified. One of the most outstanding features of the hotel is the dining room breakfast area. It is unlike anything we have ever experienced in London. Copper plated pillars; incredible display of food of every variety and a waiting staff that immediately attended to every need. Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding as well, including the quality of food. I highly recommend this hotel as well as their staff in London. It is a special find and extremely close to all transportation nearby.Show More
