Upon check-in, I was given a ground floor room where the walls were marked,...The rooms provided were completely unsatisfactory and not reflective of a 4-star standard, nor of the amount I paid (£199). Upon check-in, I was given a ground floor room where the walls were marked, damp, and the carpet was black and dirty. Due to these conditions, I requested a room change. The second room I was given had similarly unacceptable conditions, including a black, stained floor and no outside visibility as the window was fully covered, making the space dark and uncomfortable. After further complaint, I was moved to Room 424, which was slightly better, but the lights were not working properly and the carpet remained heavily stained and unhygienic. The overall quality of accommodation is far below what should be expected of a 4-star DoubleTree hotel. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be provided with reasonable care and skill, and accommodation must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. The rooms provided to me clearly do not meet these standards. Furthermore, the reception staff were dismissive and acted as though the issues raised were not valid. Despite multiple complaints, no effective resolution or refund has been offered. Given the unacceptable conditions and the distress caused, I am formally requesting a full refund of £199 for my stay. I do not wish to remain in the room under these poor and unsanitary conditions. Staff seem like they actually have no clue what they are doing disgusting behaviour when I am speaking speaking over me outrageous !Show More

Normally it's a very average hotel at best. Last year I received a great upgrade at this hotel and, at the time, staff were very kind to me. However, I have to say I was disappointed this time around. The first room shown was extremely small and tired. I understand that this being central london commands space, but still. I was shown an alternative room of equally small and cramped size, which I rejected. The final room was much better in size, despite it being next to the lift, it was quiet. However, the room was in a state of repair. Carpets were old, and generally it was very old fashioned. Bed was ok and bathroom was fine. In any case, I returned to the room later that evening, to find an intense smell of smoke in the room. The front desk promptly came to the room and sprayed some air freshener and advised me to put AC on full blast - I was cold. The next morning I had the 'honour' of speaking to the General Manager. He was polite enough to my face and said he would reimburse 10,000 hilton points as a gesture. This never happened. Nevertheless, the experience I had at this hotel was far from ideal and I will never stay there again.Show More

As a Hilton Honors member of the highest tier, I spend much of the year staying at Hilton properties worldwide, and Hilton has always been my “home away from home.” Unfortunately, this particular hote...As a Hilton Honors member of the highest tier, I spend much of the year staying at Hilton properties worldwide, and Hilton has always been my “home away from home.” Unfortunately, this particular hotel was a real disappointment and does not meet Hilton’s usual standards. We booked three rooms for a friends’ trip and stayed for three nights, and unfortunately, all of us felt the same way about the experience. The rooms are extremely small—even by London standards. The furniture is outdated, the rooms feel old and tired, and the queen bed is so small that it’s suitable only for one adult or perhaps two children. If you’re a couple, I strongly recommend booking a king room; otherwise, you simply won’t sleep well. It pains me to say this, but our stay was very poor, and the hotel feels overpriced for what it offers. On a positive note, the location is excellent, and the concierge/bellboy staff were very welcoming and helpful. Sadly, those are the only good things we can highlight. To summarize: if you are a Hilton Honors member, there are plenty of much better Hilton options in London. This property should be your last resort.Show More
