This hotel is on par with most Fairfield Inns except that it is on the fringe of what is considered downtown. The neighborhood is OK, but not the best. There are some homeless people on the block near...This hotel is on par with most Fairfield Inns except that it is on the fringe of what is considered downtown. The neighborhood is OK, but not the best. There are some homeless people on the block nearby. It is only a 15 minute walk to the old town, but otherwise there are no nice restaurants nearby. There are some pubs within a 10 minute walk and the so-called Village neighborhood (a section popular with the LBGTQ community) and pedestrian street is nearby. The suite was large and the bathroom was nice. The Hotel parking garage costs more than off-site parking but it is not valet, and it is tricky to find. There is no sign on the garage door to access it. At first I wasn’t sure if it was the right place. I guess the hotel is OK and more reasonably priced than other higher level hotels, but you get what you pay for. There are other Marriotts downtown if you are looking for a slightly higher level of lodging.Show More

Abacas ( my apologies, I believe is misspelled his name) is very cordial and is always welcoming. We were disappointed in the breakfast quality, it declined from our last visit. Also when asked for a coffee, the service staff said it was closed (15 mins early?!) they were busy removing food and clean up so nothing would be available at 11. I thought the clean up should have started at 11 and no one should be removing food or cleaning up while people were eating and conversing. I strongly encourage management to observe this process and think over the clean up in a packed lobby on Saturday morning. Having a packed lobby with a hotel at its capacity, I would have hoped that the staff and management would have appreciated this and offered better service.Show More

Breakfast is basic, not too much choice but ok, although not far from all main attractions I did not like the location, on the busy road and close to the 'homeless hub'. We were staying over the Grand Prix weekend so I believe it affected how much we've paid but I'd say it wasn't very good value for money. One last thing to mention is the aircon, not sure if it was old or broken but the noise overnight was unbearable!Show More

Even though there was no parking at the hotel, the one that was not very far away was convenient. We were about a 25 minute walk from Old Montreal. The room was clean and well air conditioned. While some of the channels on the tv were not working properly, given that is only a fist world problem, we fully enjoyed our stay.
