From the grand bell and door team with Bell Captains Khun Den and Khun Naan who ensures I receive my Bangkok Post delivered to my door every morning and indeed the wonderful gentlemen - Khun Phek, Khun Arnon (Non), Khun Yos, Khun Tueng, Khun Gee, Khun Elle, Khun Daeng, Khun Mel, Khun Golf, et al. Walking into the hotel, I love the Grand Lobby where one immediately sees the Concierge Desk with Chef Concierge Khun Turbeau, Khun Bebie, Khun Foam, Khun Arm - Khun Bebie who has furnished me with the latest magazine and Khun Foam who curates GHE postcards for me, and Khun Turbeau always most helpful - he managed, with the assistance of Khun Orn at Erawan Bakery at the Lower Lobby, to curate mini mooncakes simply enclosed in paper boxes during the MidAutumn festival at the full moon in September, when I voiced a concern about the bulky ornamental boxes
Next to concierge, is the Front Desk/Reception which may very well be the reason I keep returning - what a fabulous team of hoteliers including the AMs Khun Aum, Khun Arm, Khun May, Khun Tarn (Aida), Khun Bam and the ladies and gentleman - Khun Toey, Khun Maprang, Khun Mee, Khun Ingrid, Khun Olive, Khun Kim, Khun Pookie, Khun Feem, Khun Kafor - and also the Guest Services team - Khud Pid, Khun Nui, Khun Kate, Khun Omsin, Khun Peng, Khun Ani, et al - and not to forget the Guest Experience team led by Khun Chok and his multilingual team including Khun Waris, Khun Som,, Khun Kaew, Khun Stephanie. The Guest Experience team works with the F&B Managers Khun Noi and Khun Coco (Correntin) to curate special welcome treats like Isaan sausage and khao niew sankhaya for which I am grateful. This is a very responsive management team - I have related some issues to Khun Aum related to the lighting in my bathroom, which I also related to GM Sascha Lenz. On my subsequent, the lighting issue was fixed!
The Housekeeping Team does an amazing job, including team leaders Khun Jeab, Khun Pree, Khun Bud and the room attendants - Khun Snook, Khun Joyce, Khun Bom, Khun Aood, et al. The ladies and gentlemen of the Grand Club - Khun Mild, Khun Nok, Khun Toey, Khun Dao, Khun Fluke, Khun Gigi, Khun Pars, Khun Elsa, Khun Stamp, Khun Pop, Khun Fiw, Khun Mel, Khun Baitong, Khun Vara - ensure the Grand Club is fully equipped and staffed. I love the dedicated kitchen and culinary team at the GC including chefs Tong, Sip, Tak, Armue, Oan, View et al
The major strength of the Grand Hyatt Erawan lies in its F&B offerings and teams. Not surprisingly, GM Sascha Lenz comes from a solid F&B background across multiple continents and oceans. The ubiquitous Executive Chef David Senia and his amazing team of supremely experienced chefs - Executive Sous Chef ATom, Executive Sous Chef Roberto, Chef de Cuisine Federico Fortunato (The Dining Room & Gaston), and Chef De Cuisine Gabriele Olivieri (Salvia). Chef Gabriele curates my absolute favorite Italian dish - Baccalà alla livornese. At Salvia, service is impeccable from the team - Khun Aof, Khun Kanit, Khun Jahn, Khun Faang, Khun Fai, Khun Im, Khun Oui, Khun Monica, Khun Ben, Khun Meen, Khun Jimmy, et al. At Gaston, I receive equally impeccable service from the team there - Khun Kwang, Khun Tae, Khun Tee, Khun Mikel, Khun First, et al. At the Dining Room, the venue for the first ever Thailand Oyster Shucking and Seafood Culinary Competition attended by the French Ambassador, I received the Grand service from Khun Ahn, Khun BB, Khun Kik, Khun Tiew, Khun Bank, et al. The dedicated chefs are nothing short of outstanding - Chef Arm, Chef Yaya, Chef Kamal, Chef Noit, et al. The Erawan Tea Room under Khun Koi and You Mee under Khun Sing Sing with her team - Khun Mom, Khun Moey, Khun Oil take care of my cravings for Thai vegetarian dishes, soups, and noodles
The Breezeway team poolside never fails to delight with a jasmine popsicle, my favorite, at noon. The team - Khun Dan, Khun Jack, Khun Phaa, Khun Ampha, Khun Beau can be seen working hard under an intense, strong sun or a torrential downpour.
