Housekeeping, security, front desk and the doorman were all amazing and the level of service felt like something you would expect at a Park Hyatt property.
Although I understand that room renovations are not always within the immediate control of hotel management, the room did feel a bit dated and appeared ready for a refresh. Even with that in mind, the space was very clean, the water pressure was superb and the bed was extremely comfortable. San Francisco water remains unmatched in my opinion and the Balmain bath products were phenomenal and added a luxurious touch that made us appreciate the amenities more than expected.
Regarding food and beverage offerings, we only had the opportunity to stop by the bar during our stay. The restaurant itself is somewhat tucked away which can work in its favor because it creates a sense of intimacy but I believe it has the potential to become more of a defining feature which can encourage guests to dine inside the hotel rather than going elsewhere in the city. With stronger visibility and a more pronouced presence this could become a gathering spot fore guests.
One thing I really want to highlight is how impressed I was with the way the hotel handles safety and security because that stood out to me more than anything else. When we first arrived, my key did not work and a housekeeper happened to be nearby and when I explained what was going on, she handled the matter perfectly. She did not feel pressured to open the door and she followed protocol exactly as she should by contacting security who came right up and helped us get in with a new key. In the world we live in today, it means a lot to see that this particular hotel takes guest safety seriously.
Later in our stay, we went up to what we thought might be a sky bar on the 35th or 36th floor and while we were trying to figure out how to get back down, a security officer appeared out of nowhere. It reminded me of how Disney handles security as they're present but not intrusive. The security officer was very polite and took a moment to speak with us about the hotel and showed us the beautiful views from the function space which was a nice supreise.
The only area where I think there could be an improvement would be the bar. Although the bartenders were professional, a warmer and friendlier attitude would create more of a welcoming atmosphere were guests feel valued.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back during our next visit to SF.Show More
