Lovely reception area with great views. Our room was large and comfortable, fresh fruit each day in the room and a small box of chocolate biscuits each evening when the bed was turned down. Our bed was large and very comfortable, bathrooms were clean and well stocked with soaps and shampoos. The Handara have just opened their new restaurant as part of the ongoing refurbishment of the hotel. It is very nice, lovely artwork, comfy seats and great service from the staff. Breakfasts are good with a selection of different foods and a station for omelettes, fried eggs, etc. Lovely view down the 18th fairway too. Of course the Handara is all about golf and the golf course was great. Excellent condition, wide fairways, modern carts and very good caddies. If I had one criticism it would be that there is a minimum tip of 200,000 for each caddie - which I have no problem with, but that is the minimum. We had no idea as to how much we should be tipping over the minimum as 200,000 was plainly too little. We ended up tipping considerably more but it still appeared that this was not enough The weather was cool (for us) but the hotel provides blankets to use while you're in the bar and on the verandah downstairs. By the way if you go at this time of the year remember that it's the rainy season and it does rain, each day.Show More

However, we stayed there for 2 nights to just experience the north end of Bali, and it was worth the 2 and half hour drive from Denpasar. The resort is beautiful and green and located at the base of a mountain. With expansive views and lovely weather in june (max 26 - min 18), this resort is for just enjoying a peaceful holiday. There are different room categories which comprise of Chalets and suites and are priced accordingly. We stayed in the classic garden view room and it was very well maintained with all amenities and good space. The breakfast has good variety although primarily catering to indonesian cuisine. Their picnic package is also very good as they provide a decent selection of picnic baskets and set it on the golf grounds for you to enjoy. There are 2 restaurants on different levels facing the lovely golf course which offer good cuisine choices. Having dinner in the outdoor restaurant with candlelight on each table and blankets provided if feeling cold is just mesmerising. The food is good and services are also very good. Staff is always helpful and smiling which we found is the norm in Bali. There is a wonderful temple complex nearby which we visited while staying at the resort. The Ulun Danu Buyann Temple complex has beautiful landscaping situated next to the Buyan lake. The Bedugul district is full of strawberry farms and one can visit a farm and pick fresh strawberries, for a price of course. The main attraction is of course the Handara Gate which gets crowded 9 a.m onwards with tourists coming just to take pictures in front of the gate, which is the entrance to the resort. This attraction is ticketed and has long waiting time as each group is provided a slip with a queue number. Since we were staying inside the resort, we were provided free voucher from 7.30 to 9 a.m. to take our pics. Indeed, a resort that definitely deserves a revisit.Show More
