Upon check-in,...We booked a three-night stay at Hanging Gardens of Bali with high expectations, but unfortunately our experience raised serious health and safety concerns, especially as I am pregnant. Upon check-in, there was a strong insecticide smell inside our villa, which immediately made me uncomfortable. Later that same day, the hotel conducted mosquito fogging across the property without any prior notice to guests. Smoke entered our private villa, including both the bedroom and terrace, leaving the space filled with fog for an extended period. As a pregnant guest, this caused significant physical discomfort and anxiety. While mosquito control may be necessary in a jungle environment, advance notification is essential—particularly for guests with health sensitivities—so they can take precautions or temporarily leave the area. Unfortunately, no such notice was given. In addition, there were several smaller but concerning details that detracted from the overall experience: small insects found around the complimentary dessert, and constant creaking noises from the wooden floor, which made the villa feel less well-maintained than expected for a luxury property. The hotel is also very remote, which further amplified our concern, as access to medical facilities is limited. For pregnant travelers or anyone with health considerations, this is something to carefully take into account. While the staff were polite, the overall handling of these issues was disappointing. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution pregnant guests or those sensitive to chemicals or smoke before choosing this hotel.Show More

From the moment we stepped onto the property, every need was met and anticipated, every single staff member greeted us with a smile and our names, and the pure magic of the views and the hotel amenities blew us away. The Room - wow. Our personal infinity pool with a river and jungle view was even better than the photos! We had such restful sleep and didn’t want to leave our villa it was so calming and peaceful. The Food - absolutely incredible. I was very nervous traveling to Bali after hearing stories of people getting sick. My fears were completely taken care of here. Their attention to detail, excellence and thoughtfulness proved to me that every single dish was crafted with the best ingredients and the safest practices. Not to mention so delicious too!! Shoutout to the prawn nasi goreng - I ordered it every day! The Spa - we we had the couples “massage by the river” with Romi and Muliani and safe to say it was the best massage experience of our lives. The rushing river just a few feet away from you, the masterful massages and avocado hair mask by Muliani and Romi and the tea & snacks provided after was a dream. HIGHLY recommend getting a service at the spa - trust me it’ll be the highlight of your trip. The Staff - my husband and I were taken aback by the excellent service. Every single person knew our name, remembered my food allergy and was SO kind and warm. I actually teared up leaving!! Shoutout to Gusti, Rakasmara, Heri, Endik & Virgo especially for their wonderful service. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!Show More

However, I was a litt...I would give it 5 stars, but we had a very bad experience with the house keepers. Overall, we had a great experience at the resort, the environment, staff, food and amenities. However, I was a little disappointed with house keeping. My Anker usbc charger was missing and replaced with a generic usbc cord. My friends sun glasses went missing from another room. Another couple in another room had house keeping walked in the room while they were in the pool. Without consenting to start housekeeping or tell them they’ll come back, they knocked on the window and started cleaning. This all happened on the same day, which I assumed were the same house keeping crew. I contacted the reception and they asked the house keepers, but said they don’t see it. It was there when we left for the afternoon tea. When we got back that night, I noticed the charger cables were removed from the plug and placed inside the night stand. My Apple Watch cable was wrapped in a circle, my Anker usbc cord was missing and the usbc cord left was all neatly wrapped in replacement of my original cable. I contacted the staff but had to repetitively contact receptionist for update. At the end they just told me the house keepers didn’t ‘steal’ it. I would never expect this to happen at a high end resort. Even the friendly staffs told me during our stay to rest assure that the resort is safe and free of theft. We had a great experience and all staffs were very warming minus the house keeping services. We paid a lot a night trusting the safety of our stay to find disappointment with missing items in multiple rooms.Show More

Everything...Dear Hanging Gardens of Bali staff, My husband and I stayed with you from 15–18 November 2025 to celebrate my 43rd birthday, and we could not have imagined a more unforgettable experience. Everything was extraordinary — not only the breathtaking surroundings and impeccable service, but above all, the people who make this place so special. I enjoyed the Traditional Balinese massage on two days: first with Muliani, and then with Yuni, and both experiences were absolutely perfect. Their skill, warmth, and care created moments of pure relaxation that I will carry with me for a long time. The kindness extended far beyond the spa. Every staff member we encountered made us feel cherished — from the trainees who welcomed us with smiles in the funicular lift, to the restaurant and bar team who were always attentive, to the wonderful people at the pool who even helped us take beautiful photos. We were touched by the gentle gestures, like the staff who brought tea to our room in the evening, including the lovely lady who came during heavy rain, turning a simple moment into something incredibly comforting. Every conversation, every smile, every thoughtful detail contributed to a stay that felt truly magical. We wish we could list every name, but there were simply too many wonderful people. Please know that each of you made a genuine difference in our experience. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We left with beautiful memories and deep appreciation.
