I chose this hotel due to location - and that was great. The shuttle to Universal was good and I bought my tickets at the hotel. While my room was clean and tidy, it was a little dated. Although I ...I chose this hotel due to location - and that was great. The shuttle to Universal was good and I bought my tickets at the hotel. While my room was clean and tidy, it was a little dated. Although I stayed from Tues - Sat, housekeeping only came in once on the Friday - we were out at the park from 8am until at least 3pm all days, so it wasn't for lack of opportunity. I had to change over my towels on the Thursday using those on an abandoned housekeeping cart in the hallway as after three days in the hotel, we were in great need. We did not go for breakfast at TGI Friday (the only breakfast option) as we were heading out early, I thought also it wasn't so convenient to do that and seemed expensive - might be nice if the hotel offered a breakfast room service option perhaps. The main thing was that at the time of writing (Oct 25) the hotel was undergoing significant renovation. Old and shabby carpets in the hallway, lifts full of dust and grime, the kids pool was undergoing maintenance, the gym had no equipment, main reception was a building site. This hotel does not at this time live up to Holiday Inn standards, I booked on IHG points and it wasn't expensive so that in part makes up for it - however I was really surprised to see that the hotel was still going with this level of disruption.Show More

We should’ve been informed of this prior to booking. I feel that they should be upfront with this. We had no vending, no ice only one elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. So- that being said unfortunately the staff was the best part of our stay. Francisco and Max saved the day multiple times. They are the reason we stayed the second night.Show More
