I booked this hotel based upon their website description and being part of the Derby Hotel chain. I arrived, with my family, at 9 pm after driving all day from Madrid and the less than friendly staf...I booked this hotel based upon their website description and being part of the Derby Hotel chain. I arrived, with my family, at 9 pm after driving all day from Madrid and the less than friendly staff told me no one was available to help us with our luggage. The two rooms with king size beds I reserved turned out to be smaller than a college dorm room and had two twin beds pushed together as their king size bed. The next morning I asked to speak with the hotel manager about this and was told he was not available. I tell the clerk that the rooms are not at all what I booked and are completely unacceptable. He offers me two larger rooms but tells me they do not have king size beds and the two twin beds pushed together is all they can offer. The new rooms are just slightly larger and the furniture is old and very worn, ours was held together with packing screws and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. After touring all of Portugal and Spain for a month, staying in other Derby Hotels, this hotel was, by far, the worst. It most certainly is NOT a luxury hotel! It is over rated and over priced. I would never recommend staying here, there are much better choices within the same area!Show More

La habitación superó nuestras expectativas: amplia, impecablemente limpia, muy cómoda y con una decoración clásica que transmite calidez y estilo. Cada detalle, desde la ropa de cama hasta el silencio del entorno, hizo que nuestro descanso fuera perfecto. Y el desayuno… ¡simplemente delicioso! Variedad, calidad y un servicio impecable. Cada mañana era un verdadero placer comenzar el día con productos frescos, opciones para todos los gustos y un ambiente acogedor. The guests themselves were also fascinating, adding to the inspiring and cosmopolitan vibe of the hotel. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always ready to help — and always with a smile.
