I'm not sure how this hotel is rated somewhat highly. I think a lot of reviewers on here have never stayed at another onsen so have nothing to compare it to. I think a lot of reviewers on here have never stayed at another onsen so have nothing to compare it to. Service and food are vital parts to the onsen experience, and those both were terrible here. Additionally, the hotel did several misleading things. Misleading: The room we were provided did not match the pictures. There are several pictures on the listing of rooms with really nice views, and the room is advertised as having an "open-air" bath. But the room we received has a wall blocking the entire window. We told the front desk about this immediately. They switched us to another room, but it had the same issue, and they said that there were no other rooms available. Half of the rooms are facing another hotel, so they all have walls blocking them. So you are gambling for a room where you can actually see out the window if you book here. We asked for a partial refund due to this, but they refused. The hotel was also doing construction on the 8th floor, making all of the amenities on that floor unavailable. Before arrival, we were assured they would only be doing construction between check out and check in hours (11 am to 3 pm), but they were doing it at all hours of the day. For the spa, they advertised a happy hour for a 10% discount between 2:30-6. We called regarding this, and they said they could get us in at 6. When we got this bill, it did not have the discount. They said it's because the massages started at 6, so did not qualify for the happy hour.Show More

The extras in the room provided were generous and good quality. The hotel provides almost everything you need during your stay, just bring some essential clothes to wear apart from the yukata.
