This was my 3rd stay at Hotel Okura Kyoto in the past year and each stay has been exemplary. The staff is courteous and very professional. The lobby was beautiful and my corner room was extremely clea...This was my 3rd stay at Hotel Okura Kyoto in the past year and each stay has been exemplary. The staff is courteous and very professional. The lobby was beautiful and my corner room was extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable, as well as rather large by American standards, which is rare in Japan. I had a breakfast buffet in the rooftop restaurant overlooking the Kamo river. It had a good variety of breakfast items with the french toast as the stand out item in my book. I elected to have room service for the following 2 days and it was also wonderful. The Japanese room service breakfast was quite good. I did manage to have dinner at the Japanese restaurant on the 6th floor and it was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The cafe on the lobby floor had the most wonderful wagyu hamburger set dinner as well. In summary, I highly recommend Hotel Okura Kyoto for the connoisseur of Japanese culture and I will indeed be staying there again on my next trip to Kyoto.
