Benidorm prices have increased very very dramatically in the last three years, especially during July, August and September. This being the case, we are reluctant to try new hotels during this peak period.
For those thinking about booking at the RH Royal for the first time, I can tell you the following;
LOCATION: Very handily situated in the Centro Area. The Old Town is a 5 minute walk away. The Harbor, Poniente Beach and famous Viewpoint (above Mal Pas Beach) are all about a 15 minuted walk. The Levante Beach is a 10 minute walk. The small South America Zone (Calle Esperanto) is about a 10 minute walk. For those who wish to visit the clubs and bars in the British Zone, it is a good 25/30 minute walk, or an 8 euro taxi.
IS IT ADULTS ONLY? Yes !!!!!!
ADDITIONAL HINTS. It really can pay to use the hotel website, even if it is marginally more expensive than the holiday companies. The hotel website bookings might include free transfers, a 4% discount, a very large drinks voucher, 10% bar discount, free insurance and free wine and water with your meals (if over 65 years).
ROOMS: All rooms include the following, small Fridge, free safe, balcony, individually controlled air conditioning, flat screen tv, and functional bathroom. Daily cleaning of a high standard.
RESTAURANT AND FOOD: There is nothing more annoying than paying top dollar for your hotel, and finding that you have to eat out several times because the food is not up to scratch, or you can't find any thing that you like. No such problem here. I am a very fussy eater, and I ate well every meal. The food and standards are of a high quality.
ENTERTAINMENT: Very much down to personal taste. Some prefer to stay in the hotel in evenings. Others, including us, prefer to go out in the evenings. For those who stay in, there is double choice. The entertainment in the hotel or the entertainment in RH Victoria, which is opposite. 20 second walk!!
SPAR OR TRAINING AREA? Yes, there is a small area with training machines. As a hotel guest, you also have access to the spa area in the RH Victoria.
POOL AREA. Surprisingly peaceful, very easy to relax. Includes a slightly heated Jacuzzi, and also a raised additional sunbathing area. Unlike the RH Princesa (5 minutes up the road), there is no effort to enforce the 'no reserving sunbeds with towels' rule.
BAR AREA AND LOUNGE. The small bar area, is adjacent to both Lounge Area and Pool Area.
WIFI. As with all RH hotels this is free, but it is not great in this hotel. On both trips, staying in different rooms, the WIFI seemed only to be intermittent. This was very much the case on both of our phones. One of two of the tv channels, kept losing their signals.
RECEPTION. Exactly as one would expect from a 4 star RH Hotel. There was one nice touch. There was a nice 'welcome back greeting' on our bed. They had obviously realized that we had stayed 4 weeks earlier in August.
GRUMBLES: It is very difficult to find fault with any any regular hotel feature, apart from the WIFI, as previously mentioned.
WOULD WE STAY AGAIN ?? Yes.Show More
