My son and I stayed for a weekend to enjoy Seattle restaurants, attractions and a Seahawks game. We had walked by the Hotel Sorrento on our last visit and decided we should check it out the next time....My son and I stayed for a weekend to enjoy Seattle restaurants, attractions and a Seahawks game. We had walked by the Hotel Sorrento on our last visit and decided we should check it out the next time. It was closer to some of our favorite restaurants on First and Capitol Hill, the room prices were no more than our previous visits to other nearby hotels, and we ended up with a suite with separate living and sleeping areas, so we got even more bang for our buck! The hotel lobby, Fireside Room, bar and restaurant are all beautiful. It is obviously old but has so much history, charm and character. The staff was inviting, gracious and helpful, and the rooms were big and clean. I must mention too that these were the most comfortable beds and pillows I've ever had at a hotel. To cap off a great stay, we left our car with the valet after checking out on Sunday to go to the football game. They were gracious in helping get our bags in the trunk before the game so we would be ready to after. When we returned to pick up the car and head home, the valet directed us to the front desk where they were holding some jackets we had left hung up in the closet and forgotten. Fantastic service, stay, food and drink. I highly recommend trying it out on your next visit to Seattle.Show More

We could not turn on the water in the bathtub/shower. (Front desk admitted this was a common problem.) As a result, we had to move rooms, from 400 to 410, then 411. (We were initially moved to 410 bu...We could not turn on the water in the bathtub/shower. (Front desk admitted this was a common problem.) As a result, we had to move rooms, from 400 to 410, then 411. (We were initially moved to 410 but discovered it was a queen bed, not king.) The front desk thoughtfully searched for rooms on the same floor. There were also flies in 400 thanks to a 5" gap in the spacer that held the window open so that the duct for that portable air conditioner could exhaust. That gap (and the old windows) let in street noise, making it hard to sleep. I tried to reduce the noise by stuffing a pillow into the gap. Additionally, the room was poorly illuminated, making it hard to see into our bags. The dark carpeting and all the dark furniture (looked like it was from an estate sale) added to the problem. It was odd that the room was large but the bed wedged into a corner with only a small space for one occupant to get out. This also made it impossible to close the louver door to the bathroom area. Bathroom was in desperate need of renovation. The bathroom in 411 was ridiculously small , and the shower was so low that my husband had to bend very low to wash his hair. Property needs a total renovation.Show More

My husband and I love coming here to just have a drink and admire the gorgeous architecture. This was our second time staying overnight and it was wonderful. We stayed in one of the king suites. It was beautifully decorated and very spacious. It is always fun to see your room at this hotel, as each one is decorated slightly different. The rooms are fully equipped with all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. One of my favorites being the comfy bath robes. All this being said, I do feel that the rooms are priced a bit higher than they should be. While I understand that maintaining a historic building can be costly, I don’t know that a room for one night is quite worth $530.00 without vallet being included. My two small qualms with the room are that the mattress was definitely worn down on one side making it a bit uneven and uncomfortable. And this time our room was located towards the front of the hotel and the road noise was very loud all night. Other than those minor complaints, our stay was fabulous. I will always enjoy staying at Hotel Sorrento.Show More
