Generally a nice stay, but there's good and bad about this hotel.

Nice big TV.
Top 5 UK TV channels available which many foreign hotels dont have.
Best of all, is the shower which is easy to operate, with power and directional options - one of the best hotel showers ever.
But the configuration of the sink is odd as it juts out so near the bathroom door (6mm space) and the tap is positioned too near the edge of the bowl, causing unnecessary splashes.
No room for toiletries either.
The bedroom needs proper bedside cabinets, instead of 2 small tables between 3 people. I could not fit my spectacles on it with a bottle of water as well as my daughters water. Didnt want to use the floor as it was quite dusty.
As no drinks are offered to full board guests at mealtimes apart from water, it would have been nice to have been given a fridge in the room like many hotels do. Aparently guests can ask for one at an extra cost, which we only discovered on our last day.
The bedding was dirty and its obvious that the sweet maids dont clean under the beds even though they rise quite high off the floor. Together with much debris, I found empty biscuit packets which were easily seen because of the bed height. We're not fussy about room service, and the maids were friendly, but it would have been nice to have begun the holiday with no dirt scattered along the wide skirting boards and to have had a clean balcony floor. There were many stains all along the length of the bedspreads and my daughter's had four large smears on hers which looked like mucus or dried glue.
Also, the soap/shampoo dispenser holders were filthy and covered in brown muck which could have easily been removed with a small brush.
The food was wonderful. Exquisite. Lots of choice, delicious, and great service from cooks and waiters. Even in busy times they managed to clear the wares quickly.
The magic show was excellent (David Stromboli) and began on time.
Bar staff efficient and never objected when we asked for glasses of ice.
Outdoor entertainment was fantastic and the staff were very enthusiastic and friendly. Great choice of activities.
Outside: the kids pool was great, there's ample access to fire escape stairs and the 14 shaded loungers at the back were priceless for those wanting a larger space to relax without the intense heat and also it was great to play board games on lying down.
Overall, it's definately not the cleanest of hotels and not very informative or helpful. Maids, restuarant staff, bar staff and entertainment staff were lovely but we found the reception staff rude, sarcastic, too proud to admit mistakes, too arrogant to say sorry for simple things that they should not have got wrong (LUCIANO) and generally unhelpful. We also reported two major faults with the room but they never corrected them as promised.
One reception staff member (Luciano) was especially defensive to the point of being unprofessional. He didnt seem to understand the importance of good customer service and there was no language barrier because we were fluent in Spanish.
Sadly, it's because of the reception staff why I have given this hotel a lower rating than I would have done. I would have overlooked all the other faults above because I accept that no hotel is perfect. But rudeness to guests is deplorable. They let htop down, which is a shame because there are definately some wonderful things about this hotel.Show More
