Almost all of the things you would want to do in Mendoza are west of Plaza Independencia (the main square), while this hotel is about a 10-minute walk east of Plaza Independencia. That would be fine, but the area around the hotel (especially if you walk to the right/north of the front door) is dicey. Obviously, you are probably in Mendoza for its proximity to wine country (we took a great tour and were picked up at the hotel), and this hotel is owned by a winery and they are generous with that wine, so there's that (though I could've done without the repeated sales pitches for their own tours). However, some of the negatives were especially notable, and in one case very alarming. We booked through the Hilton website for $186 USD per night, but a day or so before arrival in Mendoza (we were in Chile at the time) we got a message from the hotel indicating our rate was about five times what we had reserved! That ruined a good part of our final evening in Chile as we frantically looked for the confirmation email with the correct rate. We finally found it, and when we arrived the woman at the front desk could not have been more condescending or dismissive of their alarming error. We also did not get proper Hilton Honors points credit (if you have a Hilton credit card, check to make sure you get the correct bonus points because we didn't since their billing does not code the hotel to AmEx as a Hilton). I reached out to the hotel to get this corrected and was ignored, so I wanted to make sure future travelers are aware of the hotel's practices and professionalism, or lack thereof.Show More

While many reviews suggest skipping the city and heading straight to wine country, we couldn’t imagine visiting Mendoza without exploring the city itself. There aren’t a ton of hotel options and so we chose this one because it was very affordable, centrally located, and relatively new. We were not disappointed. The location was great—right next to the Sheraton. Even though I must highlight that the view from our room was not great. We looked out onto a slightly distressed building however this was not a deal breaker for us. The hotel is small but modern, with a lively lobby restaurant and an outdoor bar that added a nice buzz of energy throughout the day. The rooms are on the smaller side with a minimalist, slightly rustic design—think wine-cellar vibes with lots of unfinished oak. The bathroom was compact and felt a bit tight, but the water pressure was good and the hotel provided plenty of full-sized toiletries. The towels weren’t as plush or bright as we expected, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Overall, if you’re passing through Mendoza and need a place to stay for a couple of nights, this hotel is more than sufficient. It’s not fancy, but it has everything you need and is definitely in a walkable, convenient location.Show More
