The young man at the fro...I have stayed at Hyatt Regency properties all over the world, and unfortunately, this was by far my worst experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was off-putting. The young man at the front desk who checked us in was rude and smug, which set the wrong tone for the stay. When we finally got to our room, we discovered that the television didn’t work. We were upgraded to a different room where the TV did work, but the inconvenience of having to repack and move all of our belongings shouldn’t be overlooked. The valet service was another consistent frustration. The link we were provided to request our car never worked, so each time we needed our vehicle we had to call the front desk and then repeatedly explain why we weren’t using the online link. This process wasted time and felt unnecessarily complicated. The hotel’s food was subpar at best. To make matters worse, they charge an additional fee for preparing your food regardless of whether you pick it up yourself or have it delivered to your room. This felt unreasonable and not in line with the level of service I expect from a Hyatt Regency. The final frustration came at checkout. I was given an invoice showing a specific amount, but when I checked my credit card statement, there were two separate charges — one of which I had never been informed about. When I called the hotel to get clarity, the staff had no logical explanation and were unapologetic about the situation. Overall, the lack of professionalism, the technical and logistical issues, and the poor handling of billing left me very disappointed. I typically choose Hyatt Regency for its consistency and high standards, but this stay fell far short of those expectations.Show More

I spent a nice night here recently. It's a classic style hotel. Think The Breakers in Palm Beach and you'll get the idea re the architecture and feel. Think The Breakers in Palm Beach and you'll get the idea re the architecture and feel. I checked-in on the app so my actual on property check-in was quick and really just to get the keys. I went on a Thursday night so it was pretty quiet. The staff was friendly and I was quickly on my way to the room. Not a balcony room unfortunately but still nice. The view was ok; partial parking garage and also what looked like a nice area with a fountain. The room was clean. Nice sheets and toiletries in the bathroom, which was also freshly cleaned. Always a plus! Big TV and a couple of nice sitting areas. A desk and chair, which was not that comfortable but ok. Also a daybed/couch which was comfortable. Good water pressure but the shower could use a grab bar. The floor had decent traction but a grab bar is a good idea just in case. The only issue with the room was the safe was not working. Pretty sure it was a power issue. I didn't have any valuables with me so no biggie. I spent some time in the pool area. Clean, large and well stocked. Very nice. I had dinner in the bar area. A nicer menu than most hotel bars I've been to. The food was good. Not cheap but not hideous either. The area around the hotel offers a lot of dining options, stores and more. Coral Gables is an upscale area so you'll have lots of nice things to look at, but and eat. I'd stay here again in the future but I would def ask for a room overlooking the pool area.Show More
