The Hyatt Regency on King is my favorite downtown Toronto hotel. The location simply cannot be beat, especially if you are coming for the Toronto Film Festival, a Blue Jays game, or an event at the To...The Hyatt Regency on King is my favorite downtown Toronto hotel. The location simply cannot be beat, especially if you are coming for the Toronto Film Festival, a Blue Jays game, or an event at the Toronto Convention Center. There are hotels that have bigger rooms (like the Westin Harbor Castle), but that hotel is tucked in a corner and the walk from it to the convention center is horrid...mostly under expressways. The Hyatt's bedding is much softer that the Westin Harbor Castle OR the Marriott Eaton Centre, and I always sleep better at Hyatt. Plus: I love the room thermostats at Hyatt. You have complete control of your room's fan, which drowns out any ambient noise and helps you get a good night's sleep. I also appreciate that their thermostats have temperature readouts in Fahrenheit and Celsius. I think in Fahrenheit and that is what I prefer. But if you prefer Celsius, you can get those numbers just as easily. Rooms have a nice TV with a good selection of channels, as well as a desk, desk chair, and a small refrigerator perfect for keeping your drink cold. Elevators work well, and I've never had to wait too long. Lastly, the parking garage is clean and easy to get in/out of.Show More

On August 29, 2025 at 11:30 PM, two male maintenance employees attempted to unlock my room with...I am a solo female traveler and had the most distressing hotel experiences of my life at this property. On August 29, 2025 at 11:30 PM, two male maintenance employees attempted to unlock my room with a master key while I was asleep. My Do Not Disturb sign was displayed. One of these employees had been in my room the day prior for an A/C repair and knew I was traveling alone. There was no notice, no authorization, and no legitimate reason. On-site management handled it terribly and tried to downplay it, later minimizing the incident as a “perception of forceful entry.” Their first “solution” was to offer free breakfast, which was insulting given a clear safety breach. They then refused to provide the promised documentation and required me to spend additional loyalty points when I asked to relocate for my safety. Hyatt had every chance to resolve this privately through the BBB and chose not to take accountability. This was not “poor service.” It was a serious breach of guest safety and duty of care. From the moment I walked into the Hyatt Regency Toronto, I was reminded why. Danika at the front desk delivered one of the best check-in experiences I’ve had anywhere. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She made me feel instantly welcomed and went the extra mile to arrange a lovely upgrade that made my stay truly memorable. It’s rare to find service that feels both polished and personal, but Danika managed both effortlessly. And being within walking distance to Soho Toronto for a mezcal spritz was a nice touch too. Experiences like this are exactly why I remain loyal to Hyatt whenever I’m in Mexico City or pleasantly surprised, like here in Toronto.Show More

The hallways, room layouts, lack of a light switch near the door when you enter the room, condition of the carpeting and furniture, balconies with weeds growing out from between the bricks a half meter tall, the drawers are tiny… there is room for improvement when you get into the hotel rooms. This appears to be an older property that wasn’t always a hotel. We applaud repurposing of aging properties, but the room needs to be more serviceable for guests.Show More
