We are locals living in Hopeisland Resort. We sold our house & stayed at the Intercontinental for one night. We booked a Marina View club room. We had an early checkin “ thank you “ . The receptionis...We are locals living in Hopeisland Resort. We sold our house & stayed at the Intercontinental for one night. We booked a Marina View club room. We had an early checkin “ thank you “ . The receptionist was so robotic at checkin. She had her own agenda and spoke very very quickly, that we didn’t really understand what she was saying. We found our room “ Royal Palms Court “ rm 125. The room was very small only one chair in the room. The bathroom although spotless needs a little TLC. The bath tub has seen better days. . It’s obvious the paint has peeled at some point. When mending this , rather than sanding it back they have resprayed over it and yip can clearly see this. This room was very noisy. Somewhere very near they were pile driving and this went on for four hours, I put the DND ( Do Not Disturb sign) on the door as we entered the room. Ten minutes later a room attendant walks in “ Oh I am sorry I thought this room was empty “ Now I was in bed trying to rest/ sleep as we had a stressful day moving. A further few minutes “ ding dong “ the bell 🔔 goes. I answer the door. It’s another room attendant. She must’ve seen the look on my face and apologised as she didn’t see the DND sign & handed me some Himalayan bath salts in a pack. The Club Room is one of the worst I have been in. Afternoon Tea was very basic a tiered server was placed on the table 2x2 tartlets, 2 scone, 2 finger sandwiches and something else. Help yourself to the fridge & I’ll bring the tea or coffee 🤔. Now how many stars are you saying that you have I’d say 1. The evening canapés and drinks was a waste of time. I am sure that the hot puff things are baked from frozen . The beverage selection was again un inviting. We left after 10 mins. We stay in Five Star ⭐️ hotels all around the world and this is definitely one of the worst hotels we have stayed at. Usually the “ Club is the place to be “ but not here. The best part of the our stay was the breakfast in the main dining room & leaving this hotel. The paint work in the hotel looks like a million smokers have used it. The custard yellow colour need to go and a simple clean white would suffice. As I’ve said we only stayed here as we are locals . But we will never stay here again. And we will be advising friends in the “ Cove “ and HIR not to also.Show More

The atmosphere, the pool, the restaurants, everything was exceptional, and every staff interaction left us feeling welcomed and genuinely looked after. We had Club access with our room, and it truly elevated our stay. Incredible value for money and such a special experience, the level of care, the food and drinks, and the overall service made it feel next-level. Being Club guests really did make a difference, and we appreciated every part of it. From organising golf rounds for the husbands to helping arrange activities and relaxation for the wives during the day, the team made everything effortless. It made the trip feel so personalised and relaxing for everyone. A special shout-out to Roxy, who looked after us in the Club Lounge most days. Her warm, friendly service made our stay even more memorable, she is a star. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond, but Roxy truly was a stand out.
