Pros: • The locati...We’ve been staying at the InterContinental Toronto almost once a year, and while it continues to offer reliable comfort and good service, the property is starting to show its age. Pros: • The location remains one of the best in downtown Toronto — close to Union Station, the waterfront, and great dining options. 🌃 • The staff continue to be friendly, attentive, and professional. • The lounge service and offerings have clearly improved since our last stay — better variety and quality overall.🍌 Cons: • While some rooms seem to have received minor upgrades, the hotel as a whole still needs a major renovation to keep up with other properties in the same tier. • The main restaurant was once again disappointing, much like our experience last year. • The soap scent remains unchanged and has become quite tiresome over repeated stays. 🧼 • The hotel gets extremely busy during conferences and tour bus season, which impacts the atmosphere and service pace. 🚌 Overall: InterContinental Toronto continues to deliver solid service and a great location, but it’s time for a substantial refresh. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality. Ardiz at check-in went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even though we arrived well before the usual check-in time. Not only did she manage to find us a room early, but upon learning we were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary, she took the extra step of personally walking us over to the concierge. The concierge was incredibly helpful, taking time to give us suggestions and help us plan our day in Toronto. After a wonderful afternoon exploring the Distillery District, we returned to our room to find a beautiful surprise—a bottle of champagne and sweets, along with a heartfelt anniversary message. It’s little touches like these that make such a big difference. As someone who travels extensively across Canada on business, I’ve stayed at countless hotels, but I’ve never experienced this level of personalized and thoughtful service from a corporate hotel chain. The staff at the Intercontinental Toronto truly set a new standard for me, and because of them, I’m now a loyal IHG customer. Highly recommend!Show More

He clearly explained all of the benefits we had because of the Ambassador program (including the room upgrade and the hotel credit), and really made the start of our stay a special experience. The Room: The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom shower had good water pressure (no bath). WiFi was good (I had a few video meetings) and we also streamed a TV show on Netflix from my iPad to the TV. We liked the view of Toronto Islands and the CN Tower from the room (looking over the convention centre). The Lounge: It was very nice to be able to walk out to the door and down the hallway to the lounge for breakfast and the evening cocktail hour. The lounge staff were friendly and helpful. Both the breakfast and the evening reception had a good variety of food (do it yourself poutine! the evening we were there) and nice selection of beverages in the evening. Overall a great stay. We liked it so much that we are already planning our next stay for a weekend in February.Show More

The front desk were super helpful but my favourite of all was Peter in the Azure restaurant who made me (a woman travelling on her own ) feel so comfortable and looked after. I first encountered him in the restaurant where he was super helpful in my menu choices but then noticed when I was running out of ketchup for my fries and asked if I wanted more. In subsequent evenings he was on bar duty and I visited for a brief nightcap before heading up to bed. He was well informed about the wine menu and guided me in my choice and then unobtrusively looked after me. Sometimes when you are travelling on your own you just want to hang out where there are people without necessarily wanting to engage with others. I felt Peter created a safe space for a woman on her own to do that; to decompress after a day’s work. Thank you Peter.Show More
