T...We stayed at this Autograph Collection hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, it fell far short of the standards we’ve come to expect from other Autograph properties in North America and Europe. This is neither a boutique hotel nor a true luxury property. It lacks the individuality and character that typically distinguish Autograph Collection hotels, instead feeling like a generic large ski-resort operation. The hotel is owned by an American company based in Texas and was only recently added to the Autograph/Marriott portfolio. Prior to that, it functioned simply as a ski-resort hotel — and, in truth, that’s still exactly how it feels. The on-site restaurant, Velvet, was disappointing for both breakfast and dinner, and we would not recommend dining there. On a positive note, the rooms were clean and the staff provided adequate service, though nothing beyond functional.Show More

It's a bit off the grid in that you have to drive down a dirt road for a while to get there. The entire area is under construction and as we were almost there I had to back up for almost 100 meters to allow another vehicle to get out before I could proceed. The so called free self parking is a fair walk into a dirt area. I was given another option in the underground garage which I chose because as the check-in guy offered one or the other he quickly added that the hotel is not responsible... I found this method somewhat tactless to be honest. Last, we had free breakfast with our room and even with previously reading negative reviews I didn't think anyone could screw up breakfast. I was wrong. Over easy eggs were over hard and burnt. Sourdough toast were very burnt. A few sausage links also very overcooked. Last, I chose a diet coke for my drink choice and it was flat. My wife had a waffle with chicken which was okay, except... Yes, the waffle was burnt. Dear Manager, please note that there is something wrong with your restaurant! Excellent service, friendly, professional, efficient and helpful staff in all regards. Beautifully appointed hotel with all of the amenities that you could ask for. Spotlessly clean and well maintained, modern facility. We actually stayed 4 nights in total as our plans changed from the original 3 night booking to 4 nights. We were attending College Prep Baseball Provincials which were held in Trail about 20 minutes away so we commuted every day. The only meals we had at The Velvet Restaurant inside the Josie were our breakfasts. When we booked our rooms, we pre-paid our breakfasts for the 4 days which ended up being a very good deal price-wise as the menu items were quite expensive we thought. The food we had was good but not excellent especially if we had paid the menu price and not the much cheaper pre-paid price. All in all, we would absolutely recommend The Josie Hotel and we would definitely stay there again!Show More
