As a former Hong Kong resident I was aware that the best place to base oneself when visiting Hong Kong is Pacific Place which has the choice of three luxury hotels, a shopping Mall with quality shops,...As a former Hong Kong resident I was aware that the best place to base oneself when visiting Hong Kong is Pacific Place which has the choice of three luxury hotels, a shopping Mall with quality shops, a wide choice of restaurants, great transport links and a park behind. My family group of six chose the JW Marriott Hotel for our six day stay and it proved to be an excellent choice. Thee Marriott has a high ratio of staff to guests and this ensures great service. Our room was always cleaned early in the day and it was pleasing to see that the room rubbish bin was emptied twice a day. It was noticeable that rooms and public areas had a high degree of cleanliness which, matched by good maintenance, showed the management and supervising staff set high standards. Our room was quiet (no sound of doors slamming) and I slept better in the hotel than I do at home. A good nights sleep was matched by the good food available in the hotel. The Man Ho Restaurant deserves its Michelin star and in the JW Cafe we had a Hainan chicken rice lunch better than any we have eaten in Singapore. The staff in an hotel can make the difference between an average stay and a memorable one. In this regard the Marriott gets top marks from me for we received excellent service with whole departments like housekeeping deserving a mention to individuals who impressed by their efficiency and friendly service. Here I single out Polly (Man Ho Restaurant), Matthew (JW Cafe) and Stephanie LI (Executive Lounge), the latter getting my vote for employee of the month. All the above is pro, and here are two points on the con side the management might like to consider. I found the corridors on the 14th floor dark. and unappealing and a minor refurbishment of laying a new carpets and painting the room doors in a lighter colour would make a big difference. The second suggestion I have is employing room cleaning staff who can speak English and/or Cantonese. I had difficulty understanding a cleaning maid who spoke only Mandarin.Show More

I’ve always enjoyed my previous stays and appreciated the friendly, consistent service. Unfortunately, my most recent visit fell short of expectations. While the room had a slight unpleasant odor, I spent little time there due to a packed schedule, so it wasn’t a major concern. The bigger issue arose at check-out. I was incorrectly charged for a breakfast on a date prior to my actual check-in — an obvious error. While such mistakes can happen, the resolution process created further complications. Attempts to correct the charge triggered a fraud alert with my credit card provider, who then blocked further transactions from the hotel as a precaution. When this became apparent — after I had already departed the hotel — subsequent communication from the front desk made me feel as though I was at fault. Their approach was noticeably firm, both in phone calls and emails, which left an unfortunate impression. While the issue now appears to be resolved, the experience has dampened my view of the hotel, and I no longer look forward to future stays with the same enthusiasm. That said, I would like to commend the door and room staff, who remained consistently friendly and courteous throughout my visit.Show More

However, the service throughout the hotel felt inconsistent. The executive lounge, in particular, was disappointing—service was minimal, and even basic greetings were often missing, which fell short compared to other hotel lounges. The rooms are somewhat dated, though they do offer a few modern touches such as electric blinds, USB outlets, and newer beds. Room, so small that my husband luggages plus my luggage’s couldn’t all enter in the room. Furniture …. The youngest things in the room is the old tv. Every single things need to be changed. It seems that year 1970 stopped in my room. And the best: I am traveling with my husband, he is the highest level membership of Marriott. Believe me or not, at the check in, the lady explained me that if I wanted to have access to the lounge I had to wait my husband before I didn’t have access to the lounge without him.Show More
