I used to love Kimpton Hotels - this place makes me question who in HR hired the staff here. First of all, this is NOT A 4-STAR HOTEL. No amenities, super basic rooms, not even a coffee aker or water...I used to love Kimpton Hotels - this place makes me question who in HR hired the staff here. First of all, this is NOT A 4-STAR HOTEL. No amenities, super basic rooms, not even a coffee aker or water in your room. Upon check in, when I complained about a $32 a night "resort fee" with absolutely no tangible benefits, the rude desk clerk threatened to cancel my reservation. He then brought out the manager who was equally rude and gave me some B-S about how $32 a night was the price we paid for their supposedly free cocktail hour. The A/C in my room was not functioning, and when I called to complain there was no apology and no offer of compensation for the wasted time repacking up all my stuff and moving my room. AVOID this hotel - you can do better!Show More

It apparently used to be a Holiday Inn, and you can feel the quality of the rooms is perhaps a result of that. In particular, the majority of rooms, including the one I stayed in, have connecting doors to the room next door. I could hear noise from the next room, including words being spoken on the TV. Only suggestion the reception team had was to put towels on the floor next to the connecting door, to block the noise (which wasn't very effective). Worse, I am pretty sure the guest in the next room was smoking. I flagged it to the reception team and they said they'd look into it but I didn't get an update. I ended up checking out 1 day earlier than planned, and I was happy to be out of the hotel. The only reason I've given 2 stars rather than 1 is because some on the reception team were very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant is ok, nothing special. I had breakfast there twice.Show More
