The customer service was exceptional. Staff were incredibly friendly and genuine and always ready to assist. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room on a high floor, right next to the lift lobby as requested, making it so convenient with our kiddo. The hotel provided a baby bathtub and crib, as requested too. Another delightful surprise was the complimentary club room benefits, including a teatime cocktail. The apartment itself was super spacious. It has a living+dining+kitchen room equipped with a washing machine, a fully furnished kitchen, and a full-size fridge. A separate bedroom with ensuite toilet. Perfect for a family. The balcony was a nice bonus, with a great view and fresh air. Though i must say the hotel website could have done better at marketing their rooms with more photos reflecting these amazing features. The hotel’s pet-friendly vibe, with dogs and cats roaming the lobby and garden area (leashed), was a highlight for our daughter, who absolutely loved interacting with them. It added such a fun, lively atmosphere to the experience. One of the key reasons for choosing this hotel. Located away from the busy district yet not too far off for cab. They do offer hourly shuttle bus service to and fro Chidlom BTS but we decided to just use Grab app for convenience. Do book in advance with the front desk of you are thinking of using the shuttle service. However, there was one notable downside that kept this from being a 5-star stay. The bedroom had two smoke detectors emitting bright white flashing lights, which felt like sleeping with constant lightning flashes. This was particularly disruptive for our toddler’s sleep. We had to move the crib multiple times and cover it with a towel to dampen the effect. While I understand the lights indicate the smoke detectors are functioning, they were quite intrusive for those seeking uninterrupted sleep, especially with young children. Overall, the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok offers a fantastic family-friendly experience with thoughtful amenities and warm hospitality. If not for the smoke detector issue, it would’ve been perfect. We’d still highly recommend it for families and pet lovers!Show More

The worst hotel stay I have ever experienced in any 5-star property. This hotel assigned me a connecting room without asking for my consent. The worst part is that whenever someone rang the doorbell of the room next door, the sound could also be heard clearly from my room, making me repeatedly think someone was ringing my door. I could also constantly hear conversations from the adjoining room because the guests were very loud. But the most unacceptable incident happened on 16/11/68 at 3:00 AM. I was already asleep, yet I was awakened in the middle of the night because the guests next door were ringing their doorbell and talking loudly at 3 AM. This caused me to be sleep-deprived and left me feeling dizzy throughout the day. Therefore, before assigning a connecting room to any guest, I would strongly recommend that you ask for their consent first. Please ensure they are aware of the potential issues, such as noise from the neighboring room and the loud doorbell that can wake them up in the middle of the night, which may affect their rest and overall health due to insufficient sleep caused by these disturbances. The hospitality back then was warm, thoughtful, and memorable, and it made us excited to come back. Sadly, this visit did not reflect the same 5-star standard. Our stay began with a disappointing check-in. We arrived around 1 PM and were told our room would be ready in two hours. When we returned at the suggested time, the manager on duty responded in a way that felt more dismissive than welcoming. Instead of acknowledging the delay, he explained that the room was not ready because we were given an upgrade, an upgrade we never requested. The tone left us feeling as though the inconvenience was somehow our responsibility. When I calmly asked what he would do if he were in my position, his response, “May I offer you water?”, felt dismissive and did not address the concern. For a hotel positioning itself as a 5-star property, the interaction lacked the warmth and professionalism we expected. We also found cleanliness issues upon entering the room, including hair on the floor, dried contact lenses, and visible marks on the table. These details were surprising for a hotel of this caliber and added to the overall sense that the experience fell short. The property itself remains beautiful, and we truly wanted to enjoy our stay as much as we did last time. However, both the service and room preparation did not match the high standard we had previously experienced. I am not asking for compensation. I simply hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences, so that everyone can receive the respect, attentiveness, and hospitality that Kimpton Maalai is known for.Show More

At the front desk, we were welcomed with a huge smile by Grape, who was simply amazing. I mentioned that I had made a small mistake in my room booking, and without any hesitation, she offered us several room options from different categories at no extra charge. Her kindness and professionalism truly stood out. While waiting for our room, we went for a walk, and when we returned, we were greeted by John, who was absolutely wonderful. He personally escorted us to our room, gave us a small tour, and made us feel incredibly welcomed with his positive attitude and excellent service. At checkout, we asked if it was possible to stay a bit longer, and again, without hesitation, the team extended our checkout by two hours with a smile. Both Grape and John remembered our names and always greeted us warmly whenever they saw us. It really felt like a personalized experience. When we had an issue with a taxi that didn’t show up, Grape immediately helped us find another one. She even waited outside to check if the original taxi would arrive and offered to handle everything for us. Before we left, the team surprised us with some cute farewell gifts, which was such a thoughtful touch. I’ve been to Bangkok six times, but I’ve never experienced such an incredible level of service. I was skeptical about the hotel’s 4.9 Google rating, but now I understand why — they truly deserve a perfect 5. A huge thank you to Grape and John for making our stay unforgettable! 🌟Show More
