I'll only consider the Kowloon Shangri-La when traveling to Hong Kong. This hotel was 100% excellent from beginning to end with the service starting the second my taxi pulled up to the door. This hotel was 100% excellent from beginning to end with the service starting the second my taxi pulled up to the door. Check-in was very smooth - but I was arriving around 2:30PM. The room was ready immediately and wow, what a room. I had the harbor view king and the upgrade to the harbor view was well worth it. The room felt massive - especially when compared to other hotels in east asia. The view from the window was exceptional and I can't imagine NOT having the harbor view. The robes and towels provided were soft and felt luxurious. The bathroom was also very nice but maybe needs a bit of a renovation. The bath products were lovely but it is a shame that even a brand like Shangri-la is doing the anchored bottles these days - that didn't feel very premium. The water pressure in the shower was excellent every time. After having been in Japan for 9 days the bathroom also felt massive. The breakfast buffet was beyond expectations. They had Chinese and Western favorites as well as Japanese, and Halal. The selection was really impressive and the quality was also excellent. The staff was a bit frantic and one time took my plate well before I had finished (I had gotten up to get some juice and the plate was gone). The spa facilities (pool, sauna, hot tub) were nice to have after a full day exploring Hong Kong. If there had been children there it would have been horrible as there was quite an echo but thankfully it was just adults when I was there. The facilities were also well maintained and the staff were also great. The concierge was also really lovely and happily added my post-cards to their outgoing mail each day. The location was another real selling point. The hotel connects to the bridge going over Salisbury Road to the waterfront promenade as well as being easy walking distance to the main areas of Kowloon. It was a quick 10 min walk to the Peninsula and Nathan Road and 15 to the Star Ferry. There was also really easy access to the MTR which was great for exploring further afield. Overall - if you can afford to stay here, do it. The rooms, the location and the service make it a great hotel for exploring Hong Kong. I'd happily stay here again.Show More

Very thankful for the staff - that is the Shangri-La hospitality that I always appreciate. Transit Orientation: Quite a bit of walk from the MTR towards Central but the good point is not so crowded and busy. Accessible to MTR TST East line which is convenient ride up to Shenzhen and vice versa. Also, there is a main bus station within the walking distance. It is not advisable to carry big baggage if you are using MTR in this busy area. Breakfast: If you have the budget grab it during your stay as there is not that many breakfast choices around the area. Location: Not a hustle and bustle area like TST, quite peaceful and serene. Just stone throw away from Avenue of Stars where you can enjoy morning run or evening walk if the weather is good.Show More

You'll notice attention to small details - e.g. I found it fascinating that the carpets in the elevators are changed daily, and it says which day of the week it is (Thursday, Friday, ...) The room was spacious, with comfy beds. I very much appreciate that even the electricity plug adapter was provided in the room (HK uses the UK standard). The breakfast was amazing with separate sections for different cuisines (e.g. Indian, Japanese) and even a well-decorated area for kids. WiFi connection in the room was adequate. Overall, it's been a very rewarding experience.Show More
