The hotel has a calm atmosphere with a spacious atrium and warm seasonal decorations. There is a free shuttle bus from Karasuma Oike Station (not wheelchair accessible). You can also walk from Imadegawa Station — the route is flat and takes about 10 minutes, making it easy even for a relaxed visit. At Hotaru, I was seated by a small Japanese garden with bamboo, stones, and soft natural light, creating a peaceful atmosphere that made the meal feel even more special. Each dish was prepared with great care — delicate flavors, beautiful presentation, and a strong sense of the season. The clay-pot rice was especially memorable, filled with autumn aromas like mushrooms and chestnuts. What touched me most was that the head chef came to greet me personally. His warm presence made the entire experience feel heartfelt and unforgettable. Hotel staff were superb and we made great use of the shuttle bus to a local underground station. The only negative was the fact that when we asked for a boxed breakfast (as one of our tours was starting very early), they looked at us as though we had three heads. It's not a Japan thing, because all other hotels were able to provide - it's clearly just something that this hotel doesn't do - very strange but not that big of a problemShow More
