Ein Haus mit Flair, dafür nicht zum günstig...Das Kyoto Century gehört zu den Oldschool Hotels, bisschen inzwischen verblichene Eleganz, nichts von der standardisierten Effizienz der neuen Kettenhotels. Ein Haus mit Flair, dafür nicht zum günstigsten Preis. Die Lage direkt an Kyoto-Station ist ideal, egal, ob man die Stadt selber per Bus erkunden oder Tagesausflüge mit dem Zug machen möchte. Wir hatten einen sogen. "Corner-Room", ausgewiesen mit 33qm, wobei hier das Bad, ein kleiner Vorraum sowie das separate WC eingerechnet sind. Trotzdem eine für Japan sehr komfortable Größe. Das Doppelbett ist schön breit und absolut bequem, davor bleibt Platz für einen kleinen Wohnbereich mit Récamiere, kleinem Tisch, Schreibtisch. Der Raum hat eine gut regulierbare Klimaanlage und ist absolut ruhig. Während das Bad renoviert ist und mit einer großen Walk-In-Dusche mit Massagefunktion, Sitzgelegenheit, Badewanne und Doppelwaschbecken mit gepolstertem Ablagehocker keine Wünsche offen lässt, wäre ansonsten einiges durchaus zu modernisieren - Standards wie USB-Steckdosen beispielsweise gibt es hier noch nicht, die Lichtsteuerung ausschließlich von einer Bettseite aus ist etwas merkwürdig. Nicht mehr so schön ist der Teppichbelag - benötigt entweder eine Tiefenreinigung oder kompletten Austausch. Roomservice erfolgte täglich.Show More

The rooms were very comfortable and of a generous size. Staff were very helpful even to the extent of suggesting some places to go to get the autumn colour and are very thankful to Miyu for being so generous with her time and Devkota who was helpful. It is due to the interaction of staff of this caliber that enhances the stay and want to return. Buffet breakfast with a huge variety of food styles to meet any bodies tastes. Staff were quick to replace empty or low food bowls to ensure fresh product was available -whether hot or cold. Would be difficult not to be pleased with the food (quality and quantity) or the service at the breakfast. The hotel is very central and located very close to Kyoto station and Department stores and eateries within a five minute walk. We would have no hesitation in staying at the Kyoto Century Hotel again and recommending it to others.Show More

The room was big and clean, the beds were comfortable as well. Loved the autumn foliage display board in the lobby - it is updated everyday and shows the autumn colors at various temples. Breakfast offered a wide spread ranging from Western options like buns and salads to Japanese dishes such as miso soup, oden, grilled fish and steamed buns, along with fruits and ice cream. The concierge service is outstanding. The staff are fluent in English, incredibly attentive, and made the check-in experience smooth and pleasant. They were also very patient in answering all our enquiries and offering helpful suggestions. As we were unable to have breakfast on the last morning, they kindly prepared breakfast bento box for us.Show More
