I booked my room and August and paid the security deposit. When I arrived, my room was given away after checking in via the app early that morning before my check in time. When I arrived, my room was not ready (given away), the front desk lady told me that engineering would be in my room fixing the TV (mind you it was 2 AM), and then she lied and said it would be the same room I was paying for (pyramid king suite). I got up to the room and it was not the room I paid for. It was two standard beds, TV being fixed at 2 AM (should have been expecting a guest at 3 PM per standard check in time), and the shower did not drain so I could not shower without standing in about 3-4 inches of water. Why my room was NOT ready and waiting for me when I arrived is unacceptable after I booked it in August and paid the security deposit. All they offered me was a $50 drink and food credit (which let’s be honest, is not covering anything in a casino). They would not move me until 2 nights later because they didn’t have the room I paid for and booked back in August. Once they moved me, the AC unit was broken in the room I was moved to and the plumbing was horrific and smelled of straight sewage. I then purchased a late check out and the front desk still deactivated the brand new keys they gave me so I couldn’t get back into my room for about 40 minutes, even though I paid to stay in there a few extra hours. Some guy that worked at the phone case store with braids is extremely rude and was harassing me and other customers and told me I couldn’t stand in the hallway of the hotel I’m paying to stay in. Called the front desk and they told me they couldn’t do anything about it because the store is rented out by someone. How pathetic. The store is in your casino and hotel, whoever is renting the location is paying YOU to rent it out. You do have full authority to do something and that store is representing YOUR establishment. It’s a matter of laziness and treating your own customers poorly. Shame on this MGM property. Then, when I checked my bags at the bell desk until my flight the bell man was extremely rude because I informed him I would tip him when I picked up my bags but he insisted of having the tip prior to. He spoke to me poorly and when I thanked him for his time as I handed him the bags he scoffed at me and walked away. All of this was a major inconvenience. I was there for work so for all of this to occur was extremely unpleasant and disappointing. I was not there for leisure and did not allot time for a hotel’s such poor service and quality. I will not be staying here again and will not be recommending.Show More

Where to start: if you HAVE to stay here go to the tower rooms, I stayed in the pyramid where the smells travel upwards and my room stank of deep fried food - when I spoke to a guy on the front desk he said that he'd speak to housekeeping, who actually did nothing in the room. The bloke on the front desk was super rude too - he could have easily sold me an upgrade (there was availability) but he couldn't be bothered. Big bloke with dreadlocks and long fingernails, don't speak to him, when I asked for a piece of paper and a pen or pencil he said it wasn't included in my sapphire package - service with a smile - clearly that wasn't included in my package either! What else went wrong apart from the stench? well lets upload some photos... 1) bag of dumped dirty bedsheets sat in the corridor for 36 hours 2) 2 massive noisy fans left running for 48 hours in the corridor 3) Lifts don't work, there's an unsafe panel missing off a few of the lifts. The digital keycard only works half of the time. The indicator is broken so you can't read what floor you're on. The lift panels look like they've been put on the wall by a drunk. 4) the room numbers are half missing and have been written on using a sharpie - at least try and make it neat! This wasn't just one room, about 10 of them on my floor alone were sharpied on! 5) ever heard of descaler in the shower? also the skewed extractor fan could drown out the noise of a jumbo jet! 6) because of "Environmental issues" housekeeping doesn't clean the room, oh but have some plastic cups wrapped in plastic because that's eco friendly isn't it! 7) we ran out of carpet tiles, oh don't worry leave a gap in the corner they won't notice! 8) no photo but the aircon panel only displayed the temp if you looked at it from a side angle and when you set the temperature it would reset in the middle of the night to 76 degrees and you'd wake up sweating! on the plus side - the gym was adequate, I wouldn't go so far as to say "Good" because some stuff was broken and some dumbbells were missing but it was good-enough. There was definitely a bed. There were clean sheets and towels. There was even shampoo and shower gel - yup that's all I got on the positives. Now I totally realise that in Vegas they don't want you to spend any time in the room and go and live in the casino but there should be some basic level of safety and amenities.Show More

They also didn’t know anything about my arrangement with the hotel so they called a manager and everything was sorted and I was given the keys. I was however informed I could not use the VIP lounge which was no big deal as it doesn’t open until 9am and closes at 5pm and it only offers a few complementary soft drinks and coffee. I also don’t like Pepsi so no loss there. The room was ok and clean but the towels were very old and worn out. The WiFi didn’t work for the entire 6 night stay and the TV picture would freeze and break up. I did report this but nothing was fixed. Not sure who they can charge a $45 plus tax resort fee when the WiFi doesn’t work the pools are closed and the majority of the restaurants are either closed or only open limited hours and a couple closed 2 days a week. The website still states they have a buffet but that closed for good at the beginning of the year which in my opinion the decision to do that was a mistake. MGM Resorts don’t appear to have any idea how to manage this property and have had an amazing theatre closed for over 12 months. This used to be a great hotel in the early 2000’s but has continued to go downhill ever since. The rooms are dated with old furniture. The TV is very basic with no apps or chrome casting option and as stated above the picture quality is poor and the picture freezes and breaks up. I guess this has something to do with the unstable internet connection. The property needs urgent attention if it’s going to get any future business. I was told I could use the VIP Lounge to check in and out by Travis the President at the time due but I was treated with an aggressive manner especially Paul who was rude on two occasions and questioned that I had any email exchange with Travis the then President of the property. I have since written to the CEO of MGM Resorts as you could not check out on the app, TV or the tablet in the front desk area. They were are broken hence the visit to the VIP lounge who rudely told me I had paid by cash which was not correct I paid by Mastercard and when I tried to show this to Paul he refused to look and told me to get cash from the front desk. I stayed at the Tropicana for 30+ years, loved the pool and service. In San Diego and Torrance I've stayed at Residence Inn since 2009 so I used my Marriott Points, asked for Las Vegas on the Strip. New York/New York was double the points for two rooms so we choice Luxor (Marriott and MGM share points). Good: Check in staff saw me and another couple standing on the long check in line with our canes and took us to the Gold line where three stations where checking people in. Aurora Bar Denise waitstaff was pleasant and attentive. She served us each evening were stayed. Room in pyramid 17th floor was clean, spacious, with walk-in shower. If you valet you can park at other MGM hotels at no additional cost. Don't know about self parking. Bad: When one of the three Gold check in stations finished checking in their person they closed. Then the same for the next station so only one station was still working and their customer had a problem that took over 15 mins to fix. So behind me and the other disabled person the Gold line got longer and longer and those customers got more and more pissed. Managers behind the check in didn't seem to care, made sure not to look at the lines. The shower in my second room kept backing up. No one at housekeeping or front desk answered the phone all the times they called over two days. When I learned the shower hadn't been fixed and why I went to the front desk, asked for a manager who took my info and within 30 minutes staff showed up fix it. Red elevators card sensors didn't work all the time so I and others ended up riding the elevators up and down until the elevator would stop on the correct floor. Main floor was heavy with smoke, seems the HVAC doesn't filter well as other hotels we visited. So I looked for a non-casino area to sit, read, and breath clear air, and there was no place as the pool was closed and no chairs outside either. I understand they want customers to not leave the casino, but the hotel lost me and my friends who only had dinner one night (Bupa de Beppo, very good food and service) as the smoke was affecting our breathing.Show More
