The room was spacious and comfortable with amazing views of the harbour. The location is in the CBD so handy to everything. Some nice touches - seems silly but we really appreciated the little pocket packets of tissue as we were both recovering from colds (which seems to happen when we travel). The inclusion of breakfast really benefits travellers - just one meal you don't have to consider. We had one dinner, one lunch and two breakfasts in the restaurant. All were fine and I recommend the burrata cheese dish for a lighter lunch - it was excellent. Staff were attentive, welcoming and friendly. Had a lovely chat with Abbas in the restaurant - he made recommendations for a return visit. My only suggestion would be to consider reducing the volume of the restaurant music. We have stopped going to restaurants that have loud music - as seniors, our hearing is not as good as it used to be and the music just makes it more difficult (yes, we both have hearing aids but their use increases the interference of the music, too). Having said that, if that one small thing was corrected, we'd definitely be back.Show More

We have just finished a 5 night stay here, and have to say this is an excellent hotel. We were in room 517, with a view of the waterfront. A good size room, with a comfortable bed and minimal internal...We have just finished a 5 night stay here, and have to say this is an excellent hotel. We were in room 517, with a view of the waterfront. A good size room, with a comfortable bed and minimal internal noise. Our room was clean, and everyday we were provided with water bottles, and had tea and coffee replenished. The hotel is in a great location, opposite the ferry terminal, and close to numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Plenty of breakfast options, and the breakfast area was never overcrowded during our stay. It made a pleasant change from other hotels we have stayed at, where the breakfast areas were overcrowded. All of the hotel staff were very friendly, and always greeted us when coming and going. There was a little outside noise, but I think probably due to christmas parties, as there were quite a few christmas functions taking place along the waterfront. The only minor issues we noticed were that the music tends to sometimes be a little on the loud side in the restaurant area, and at breakfast the toaster doesn’t really toast bread very well. But this are only very minor, and overall one of the best hotels we have stayed at.Show More

Rooms upgraded, staff extremely polite and accommodating with an upgraded room, valet parking responsive, staff checked in with us a couple of times asking if they could assist and then offered complementary drinks and extended parking allowing us to check out but stay parked so we could go to breakfast off site. Also see our review of the *onsite) Beast & Butterflies Bar & Restaurant - 10 out of 10! We thought we would never step back inside this hotel... what transformation. Complements to the management. We loved some of the stylistic aspects of our room (i.e., a mirror you could slide open to see from the bathroom into the bedroom if desired, etc). Our flight got in unexpectedly early and they did their best to allow us a early check-in, allowing us to take up residence several hours early. We asked to be placed near to my mother in a separate room and they were able to get us right next to each other and connected with a private hallway. Everyone was so hospitable and very tolerant of our sleep-deprived, zany children. Overall, we were incredibly happy and would absolutely stay there again.Show More
