5.6(6536)2/10 What a DUMP!! Terrible rooms!
Wow, I had the displeasure of experiencing two of their rooms and both were the absolute worst rooms I've ever stayed in. I travel a lot for pleasure and for business and this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I've been in motels that are much nicer than this hotel.
We paid for a Standard King room but when we arrived around 7:30pm, they had no King rooms and claimed that the room with two double beds that they gave us instead was more expensive. Well, that was a complete lie and the room felt like we were in prison; not exaggerating. The entire 8th floor was gross. Everything was dirty, including the walls and floors, with doors falling apart, chipped, and broken. The beds were lopsided and you could feel the springs, the walls were dirty and patched up in the worst way possible, and it was just disgusting. The furniture was falling apart and had piled up dust. The sink was backed up, and the bathroom was just as bad as the room. They didn't even provide hand towels for the bathroom, you just get shower towels. How was I supposed to dry my hands? With my shower towel?
The next morning we requested the Standard King room that we were supposed to be given and that was just as bad. The entire 9th floor was just as bad as the 8th floor. The furniture in the room was old and falling apart, the wall paper appears to have never been changed and it's coming off the wall and is dirty. There's tons of water damage in the bathroom and the bathtub was backed up. There's rust everywhere with the door handle to the room completely rusted. The deadbolt to the door was also broken, it just spins around! They can't even replace an outlet, instead running an extension cord across the floor to another outlet for the TV. The bed was just as uncomfortable, to the point where I woke up every morning with back pain. The beds in both room were horrible.
Save your money and go elsewhere. The pictures for the Standard rooms on these booking websites make them look like a room that's older but clean but they're actually disgusting. Even if you pay more for a "premium" room which are the remodeled rooms, I'm guessing on the upper floors, they don't sound so great. I heard from people in the elevator that they aren't that much better with people complaining of plumbing issues and hot water issues.
This hotel needs to be gutted and fully repaired. The rooms I was in appear to have never been remodeled since the hotel was built in 1962. It looks like they could care less about these rooms and I feel majorly ripped off. The only thing they have going for them is their location. Take a look at some of the pics I took...there was a lot more damage and dirt than what I captured. I also saw that they claim these rooms are soundproof but you can completely hear the other room due to an adjoining door. My wife and I were shocked that they're selling these rooms, they're that bad.

2/10 Donโt stay here itโs not worth the hassle or money
Stayed here in Nov 2024. The hotel room thatโs advertised is for an upgraded price (crazy money hundreds & hundreds more!), otherwise you get a run down room. We were so disappointed at the room but the location was OK and I got engaged on the second day of my visit so I tried to make the most of it. Staying in the room as little as possible and only when we had to. I cant fault the location but the hotel needs better customer service and all rooms renovated.
Upon checkout I asked for our deposit to be refunded. 4 months later I am still emailing the reception desk. I have had a handful of emails back to say it had been escalated to the relevant team for investigation and that was 3 months ago now. I have followed it up numerous times since and no response. They go ghost mode and do not return your deposit!
It was meant to be a magical trip celebrating our engagement but instead Iโm battling with the hotel MONTHS later to try get my deposit back. Disgraceful customer service.

6/10 It is fine but not a three star hotel
We had to move from the Hilton Garden Inn because their elevator did not work and it was taking forever to leave our floor. (We hiked down several times). I have stayed at the Manhattan before it is super dated from the 80's or 90's. The staff is very nice. The room was clean it is larger for a hotel in New York. The first room that they put us in the bed was broken and they had put pillows under the mattress to make it seem that it was fine. My husband finally got up and talked with the night manager at 2 am, who was very kind and promised to get us a new room the next day. The next room was better but still dated and the ice machine was broken. The elevators did work which is what we needed. The location is also what we needed. The breakfast if you want to add it is just a bagged one with a pastry, drink, and fruit.

8/10 New York City Value stay and location
I am a New Yorker and I can tell you that the location of the Hotel is prime for the Broadway Theaters, Central Park, Columbus Circle, Nightlife, shopping, sightseeing and quick mass transportation to other parts of the city. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Some of the Hotel rooms have been renovated. This hotel is a good value for New York City. The newer room pictures on booking site is what i received. Fresh, clean and new. Professional and welcoming helpful staff. Plenty of places to get a coffee or eat around the hotel. Walking distance to a lot of places.

6/10 Loved Times Square location.
Great location but view of Times Square was not good (I requested a higher floor in hopes of getting a better view)... buildings in front of hotel were not good. Did not like the additional daily amenities. No pool and construction going on. Only amenities I saw was WiFi and gym usage. Hot water was shut off one day 11am-7pm without notice? Safe and phone not working until we requested to repair.

There was no AC during our stay in April and it was hot in the room. It wasnโt pleasant to stay with kids.
The staff was not friendly. They shouldnโt have mentioned that rooms are air conditioned. Overall it was very disappointing and wouldnโt recommend staying at this hotel.

I would like to express my disappointment regarding my stay. The listing stated that the hotel had parking available, but upon arrival, I was informed that the parking is actually managed independently and costs $30 per hour. This information was not disclosed beforehand, and as a result, I had no choice but to park my car far from the hotel, which significantly impacted my experience.

The problem is big gap under room doors so any noise comes in. Aircon was set to 22. I changed temp to 20 and room got hotter waking me up in a sweat. Bed was worn out.
I was offered a refurbished room if I paid $200 extra per night

I had a perfect stay at this wonderful hotel in nyc.... I suggest asking for
the 18th floor. It's been remodeled and its fantastic. Wonderful shower, comfortable bed and lovely view of 7th ave. I think my room number was 1827. So so lovely. I also hear they adding a restaurant and pool next year.
