The hotel bar was ok, and the service from the staff was dec...This was my second visit to this hotel and check in was again a breeze (even when arriving late on a Saturday evening on Columbus weekend). The hotel bar was ok, and the service from the staff was decent too - I recommend the chicken wings! Location is decent - close to main station and walking distance to Times Squqre. Sadly that’s where the positives end. My room was tired and outdated. More worryingly, i was able to fully open the window 28 floors high up - this is surely a health and safety issue. In what scenario would any guest need to or be able to open a window in a high-storey building. The weather was wet and windy and I noticed the water had seeped through this window. The carpet was ripped, the bedroom had a musky smell, and there was something odd about the way the bed was done (crazy amount of sheets!). Another annoyance is the ridiculous $35 per day food/beverage credit. I don’t need/want this - why do you insist on charging it? I found myself not wanting to order their overpriced coffee or drinks at times, but felt I had to as i’d already paid for it. Overall a disappointing and dangerous experience i’m sorry to say I won’t be returning and won’t be recommending this hotel to others!Show More

Gym was pretty good. The room was okay - the bed and bathroom were decent, but there was a heavily stained sofa, the carpets were moth-eaten and threadbare, same for the towels. However, there is one major source of frustration about which I am going to complain to my credit card company. I was asked for a credit card for a $500 holding deposit. I duly inserted my card into the machine and put in my pin, and only AFTER I had put in my pin did the staff reveal that the hotel will be confiscating $200 of this holding deposit and 'releasing' $35/day of it back to me, to be spent in the hotel. This is extremely unethical, is effectively forced expenditure in the hotel, and I was not given any prior notice of this during the booking process (and indeed only told when I had handed over my credit card details). The Hotel really should be ashamed of this sort of behaviour. Had I known about this in advance, I would not have stayed at this hotel and I will not stay here again. Breakfast was punishingly expensive ($60 for the buffet option).Show More

Yes, they charge the ridiculous ‘urban fee’ as do most American hotels but at least here you get a 35 dollars a day credit off food and drinks, so at least you get something for this unnecessary additional charge. This fee needs to be scrapped…particularly by hotels already charging top dollar for their rooms or it will eventually deter visitors/business. That being said, I’ll definitely stay here again - it’s infinitely better than the cold, oversized and unwelcoming Hilton on 6th Avenue where we stayed earlier in the year!Show More
