When I made the reservation, I did inform them that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. When we checked-in, they upgraded our room to a terrace. Further, a lady (Maria?) sitting at a desk a li...When I made the reservation, I did inform them that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. When we checked-in, they upgraded our room to a terrace. Further, a lady (Maria?) sitting at a desk a little further away got up and personally greeted us and offered her congratulations. She must've heard our names when we checked in. She was very pleasant and that was a nice touch. They had some chocolate strawberries and other goodies in the room, along with a personal note offering congratulations. The room itself was very clean and the terrace room was large. We didn't use the terrace as there was no view due to the high walls. The elevator was a bit small, though. The location was perfect for us, very close to the Prado museum and the Navy museum. The nearest Metro was about 6 min away, which wasn't too bad. The breakfast itself was great and offered hot dishes, churros, cheese, fruit, pastries and other dishes. There is another NH hotel on the same street, so our taxi driver initially dropped us off at the wrong NH hotel before we corrected him. Overall we had a great stay in Madrid, all thanks to the wonderful stay at this hotel. Show More

Going into the room, we were shocked at the tiny space. No room to put a case on the floor. There was one chair. If we wanted to relax in the room, we had to sit on the bed. The bedside tables were so small because there was no space. In the bathroom, if one of us was at the basin, the other could not get past. The Handwash was so far from the basin. Downstairs, there was nowhere to relax in the lobby. The bar was so noisy. Usually, you can sit and relax in the lounge, but there was none. Altogether, a very bad experience for us. We cannot believe it was a 5 star hotel.Show More
