The staff were all professional and many very warm. The check-in/ check-out process very smooth and quick. Plenty of machines to do laundry and the breakfast had a plethora of options. It is a fantastic hotel for those that want upscale facilities and service and the westerner comforts of home, especially those with children not familiar with traditional Japanese practices and those that would like modifications to meals w/o feeling badly for asking. Modifications are not the norm in Japan. I cannot say enough about the rooftop bar/restaurant. It had an amazing view of the area (loved having a glass of wine whilst gazing at Kiyomizu-dera and it's blue Kannon's light of compassion in the distance) and the service was just beyond with the heated blankets. It was family-friendly and our 12yo son wanted to end every day there. He is insisting we go back just to stay there, lol.Show More

The room was a good size for Japan and cleaned daily. I liked having a water purifier in the room rather than plastic water bottles. The bakery and coffee shop was excellent. The rooftop bar had a nice view of the Kiyomizyu dera. The staff and service was great. I forgot my coat in the hotel room, they replied to my query promptly and mailed the coat all the way back to the US. Overall I was very pleased with this hotel.Show More

As we arrived a little early we were able to sample food from the bakery, which was very tasty. The breakfast was great and we ate in the restaurant twice as the food was so good. The rooftop bar was lovely but seems to be open to non residents so I would recommend making a reservation for a space, especially at weekend. The laundrette was an added bonus if you are travelling for several weeks.Show More
