I’ve just returned from a wonderful three month stay at the Orchard hotel. I would thoroughly recommend staying here for so many reasons. Firstly it is in a great location- it’s in a very safe yet vib...I’ve just returned from a wonderful three month stay at the Orchard hotel. I would thoroughly recommend staying here for so many reasons. Firstly it is in a great location- it’s in a very safe yet vibrant area of Singapore, with the Orchard MRT station a short 8 minute walk away and the Delphi Orchard bus stop right outside where you can catch a variety of buses which take you to all areas of Singapore. Both methods are very cheap, clean, efficient and easy to navigate with Google maps, and use by tapping on and off with a Visa card. (We used Grab taxis occasionally which were easy to book using the app and would pick us up from the hotel entrance. ) Secondly the hotel is at the top of Orchard road which has a variety of excellent restaurants, and numerous shopping malls which include supermarkets, food halls, individual traders and high street stores selling everything you could think of, and high end shops such as Gucci and Louie Vuitton, so is a shoppers paradise! You can walk to the Botanic Gardens from the hotel which is a green, lush area to walk around. It houses the National Orchid Gardens which is breathtaking. Thirdly it is very reasonably priced for a five star hotel which gives you so many facilities such as two good restaurants and a good room service menu, a bar with live music every night, a 24 hour gym and a 25 metre outdoor pool. There are washing machines and dryers by the pool which made doing my laundry each week an easy task. I also used the laundry service for some items of clothing which was an excellent service. There is a large ‘Cold Storage’ supermarket connected to the hotel in a small mall, which sells everything! Fourthly, our room was very quiet and comfortable, accessed only with a key card so very safe- it had everything you could want including a nice coffee machine with pods and hot and cold water machine with a good selection of tea bags. All the cleaners, particularly my regular cleaner Van hai, were very quiet, hardworking and respectful of my privacy, and didn’t disturb me when I put the ‘ do not disturb’ light on, only servicing my room when I left the ‘clean me’ light on. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had the best nights sleep we’ve ever had in a hotel! The TV had a variety of channels but it was very easy to connect my iPad using both Chromecast and Airplay to watch Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of different cuisines for all tastes. The two chefs who manned the egg station made wonderful omelettes and poached eggs on toast for me. All the staff in the restaurant were so friendly especially Johnny and Marliah who went above and beyond. Finally I must mention one particular member of staff- Sharon who particularly made our stay such a happy and memorable one.Show More

While our first visit was barely decent, the second — and likely our last — was utterly disappointing. Although part of the fault lies with the third-party agent Trip.com, we believe the hotel’s service recovery could have been handled far better. We booked a Signature Deluxe Club Room via Trip.com. Naturally, for regular hotel guests, the “Club” designation would imply lounge access. However, upon check-in, we were informed that our room did not include such access. Instead, we were entitled only to use the “Signature Library,” which offered nothing more than basic coffee, tea, and a few cookies — a poor substitute for a club lounge experience. Check-in was another unpleasant experience. The queue was long and disorganised, with only two counters open. When our turn finally came, it took unusually long for the staff (served by Thamil) to complete our registration. It was unclear if this was due to system slowness or inexperience, but either way, it reflected poor front-desk management. The room itself was dated and poorly maintained, with multiple visible wear-and-tear spots, including in the bathroom. For the price paid, the room felt cramped and underwhelming. On a positive note, it did offer a nice, unblocked city view, but that was about the only redeeming feature. Unfortunately, the soundproofing was terrible — noises from the corridor were constantly audible. We had also sent an enquiry prior to our stay, but received no response. This lack of communication seems consistent with our past experiences at other Millennium Group hotels, which have been consistently disappointing. Overall, we do not recommend staying at Orchard Hotel Singapore or any properties under the Millennium Group. There are many other hotels in Singapore that offer far better value, service, and upkeep for the same or lower price. At the rate things are going, the Millennium Group will likely struggle to succeed if such poor service standards and outdated facilities continue to define both its staff performance and overall hotel quality.Show More

To my surpris...Mr. Johnny is the best in breakfast and lunch services on the Orchard Cafe. At my 1st day breakast, I asked him about whether there is hot chocolate drink in the dispenser. He said "no". To my surprise, He came back bringing hot choco for me. And it was for every breakfast I stayed there. The hot choco tasted good. The italian foods are great with the varieties and taste. The room service is also attentive. They came at the requested time and did the requested detail. There was a hassle with the call center staff, about laundry, their communication with the receptionist, and over charging card, but solved right away, as the front office managers (mr. Len at night and mr. Alvin Fernz at day), were willing to listen, receive feedback, and improve. There is tissue in the bathroom, but just a suggestion: adding a box of tissue on the TV table or lamp table will be nice, since we eat/snack there, not in the bathroom. Also providing a haircomb, a facial wash, another soap on the bathtub, and even a piece of bath bomb for bathtub, can be details that distinct one hotel to the others. The complementary bike use was nice. The bike tires only need to be regularly inflated.Show More
