The staff tried to send my driver (whom I had organised independently from the hotel to take my family to the airport) away. I had told the staff member that we were going to the airport and we were w...The staff tried to send my driver (whom I had organised independently from the hotel to take my family to the airport) away. I had told the staff member that we were going to the airport and we were waiting there with our bags. The driver turned up to collect us but the guy tried to send him away. The staff have some kind of side deal / commission arrangement with their own drivers. I know this because the driver told me about it after he persisted and found us and took us to the airport. It also explains why the airport transfer rate they offer $100, is twice what you can get with great companies like Uniquely Fiji ($50). Upon reflection I now suspect the staff member tried to distract us from the driver at the time he arrived by concocting some story about how we had left some item of clothing by the pool. Be wary of these issues if you stay here. Otherwise the location adjacent to the port was perfect, the pool was great, the room was spacious and clean enough, the food at the cafe was brilliant. We stayed at the Palms for 4 nights. On our first night the aircon was leaking quite badly on to the bed so we had to sleep with it turned off. I mentioned this to housekeeping the next morning and they were very helpful and prompt in resolving these issues. Everything else went smoothly and we really enjoyed our stay here. The cafe made beautiful fresh juices which were a hit with our family. The location was also perfect for visiting the Big Bula water park (The Palms/Terraces are on the Bula Bus route) and for our day trip with South Seas Sailing. Would recommend this accommodation to others. Show More

Every corner and a large pirtion of the grout in the shower was covered in black and pink mould. The toilet wasnt cleaned properly. The towels were old and frayed. A real shame. Has a rating of excellent sonwe must have been given the worse room in the place. Floors need a good clean. Dried them after showering and the towels were filthy. Comfortable beds though which. The Palms Denarau was clean, modern and convenient. Across the road are many restaurants but VERY expensive- be prepared to pay $40-$50 for a pasta dish . Good variety of clothing and souvenir shops also and a small supermarket. The marina is also super close and perfect for an overnight stay before heading to the islands as we did. I would definitely stay at the Palms again! Show More
