I don't know if we stayed in an older section of the hotel, but it our room was in desperate need of attenti...A friend had stayed here before and recommended it, but we did not have a great experience. I don't know if we stayed in an older section of the hotel, but it our room was in desperate need of attention. Pros: *Lobby seemed upscale and always smelled nice *Beds were decently comfortable *Good room size for NYC *Location is fantastic *Appreciated being able to leave luggage on departure day *Staff quickly arranged a car to the airport for us at a flat fee *Overall felt safe Cons: *Our room smelled like cat pee, particularly by the door. *Closet door was torn up near the handle and we both got splinters (doors were also splintered at the bottom but that was only aesthetic) *Mold/mildew growing in all of the grout/caulk in the bathroom sink area *Some pillows were so flat, we thought they were just a pillowcase *No hand soap was in the room when we arrived, and none was ever replaced by cleaning staff *Hunks of hair in the shower when we arrived, indicating the shower had not been cleaned *Shower plug would not stay in an open position, so had to hold it open manually to get it to drain *We were told they would bring a small refrigerator to our room. This didn't happen. *Smoke alarm was missing from the wall (seems like a code violation?) *Only one lamp in the bedroom so it was constantly very dark and difficult to get ready (a friend's room had multiple lamps?) *Phone in the room did not work; was dead (wireless) and unplugged *No plastic sack to line the ice bucket Overall, we feel that we paid for a moderate luxury experience but received a Motel 8 experience. Because we were close to our friends, we did not request to be moved, but wanted others to be aware of this experience.Show More

Perfect for those...A family vacation to New York. From landing at JFK to arriving at our hotel Park Central Hotel Midtown Manhattan, simply great! Couldn’t have picked a better location for our hotel. Perfect for those staying for a short break (we did 8days) located 2min walk from Central Park and 10min walk to Time Sq. At check in we were welcomed by Carolyn, the most welcoming and warm smile I have seen in a while. Check in was flawless, she arranged to hold our luggage until our room was ready so we made the most of heading out and eating Hot Dogs! 🌭 Park Central Hotel like I said is perfectly located for those visiting the Big Apple for a short break. The hotel has character, do the rooms need a touch up, yeah sure but who stays in their room while in New York? Sleep, shower (very comfortable beds) and head out, all perfectly suited to the Park Central Hotel. On the day of check out, Carolyn was on duty, once again, effortless in our check out/Admin etc and she again arranged for our bags to be kept all day while we headed out as our flight was at 11pm from JFK. She even topped it off with a little special something for us, thank you so much. So, all in all, depending on what you’re looking for in your hotel & location, give Park Central Hotel a try! Honestly I could not recommend this hotel enough. We arrived early so left luggage in their store. Easy peasy. The hotel has a very beautiful entrance a handy little shop and toilets for guests only. ...Honestly I could not recommend this hotel enough. We arrived early so left luggage in their store. Easy peasy. The hotel has a very beautiful entrance a handy little shop and toilets for guests only. Check-in was super easy. We were on the 17th floor. I’d read about problems with elevators but we had none whilst there. All worked fine and we never really had to wait. Room was lovely. Betty and the team had put a bottle of fizz and balloons in the room for my sisters birthday which was a really lovely surprise. Room was so quiet considering how close to everything you are. There was tv, air con, blackout blinds, ice bucket (machine just outside room), body wash, shampoo, soap, a coded safe (very handy to know as couldn’t find out pre holiday if there was one). Everything we needed. House keeping were great, fresh towels and beds made every day. Hotel is perfect location for exploring NY. We walked to plenty of attractions including Empire State Building, Times Square, Chelsea Market, Madison Square Gardens and Central Park is right on your door step. The subway is also right outside and took us all the way down to little Italy. When leaving the door man was super helpful and advised us of best time to get a taxi because of traffic and had a cab waiting for us when we needed to go. I really couldn’t have asked for more. We were 3 women in our 30’s exploring the city and this hotel was perfect for us. Many thanks.Show More

New York can be chaotic, but this place felt like someone had quietly switched on “easy mode.” First, a huge shout-out to Joanna, who helped us organize the whole group stay. She understood exactly what we needed — no fuss, no confusion — and even arranged a thoughtful welcome touch when we arrived. That kind of attention sets the tone, and the tone was very good. The front desk team was consistently helpful, always ready with an answer and a handful of spot-on tips for getting the best out of the city without falling into the usual tourist traps. And the doormen? Absolute legends. Carmelo, in particular, is a fantastic guy — the kind of person who makes you feel like you’ve known him for years, not three days. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, perfectly located, and surprisingly calm considering you're steps away from the madness of Midtown. For a group trip, it was perfect — smooth, friendly, and absolutely stress-free. Would I come back? In a heartbeat. And I’d ask for the same team again.
