I had to reserve two rooms since I travelled with my wife and 2 children. This property only has one room type which allows four people to stay in the same room, that is double bed deluxe. This property only has one room type which allows four people to stay in the same room, that is double bed deluxe. But since they have very limited room, I had to reserve two rooms instead. Few weeks before I travel, I requested to the hotel to arrange the rooms close to each other. But they said they will try their best to arrange as my request but can’t guarantee because it is totally upon availability during check in time. I understand this because it does make sense. Obviously, I can’t ask someone staying in the room to move to the other room for my convenience. But the problem was during my stay. Even I’m currently a globalist member, I was informed by email a week ago that I will not be able to get any room upgrades during my stay due to high room occupancy. 2 of my 4 night stay was weekend with public holidays in Sydney, it was obvious that the rooms were totally full. And this property has a policy that midstay upgrades are not available. As then, I do understand that midstay upgrade of the room is not available during the stay. I respect the hotel’s policy. However, I requested several times during my stay to move my rooms close to each other when it is possible. On my third day of stay, I saw the staff preparing for rollaway bed right across my room, for new guest coming in. It was the same room type as my other room which I request to move, so it will be closer to me for my family to move conveniently. It seemed like hotel staffs were not even considering my requests for closer rooms when it becomes available. As being a globalist member of World of Hyatt several years, I was never been treated like this before in any other properties around the world. Oh yah. I was not even informed about breakfast and hotel facilities during the check in process, so I had to ask them in the reception desk. Perfect location, perfect facilities, great food, but not good at all to treat guests who has loyalty to their program.Show More

The...The PHS is the epitome of 5* luxury. The location can't be beat - directly across from the Opera House. The size of the hotel is deceptively large, as it winds around a part of the Harbour's edge. The rooms have an open-plan layout, and each has a balcony. A potential drawback to the hotel is the fact that there is no shortage of people who can easily see you in your room, so you may want to lower the shades at night. I'm a fan of the bathrooms; they have a fair amount of counter space. They layout and decor are great. If you want a hotel with huge rooms, you won't find them here; thus, I find them a bit tight. I'm also not a fan of the balconies or lounge furniture. It just feels too small and on the cheap side. The bedding IMO is AMAZING. I have never slept on pillows that feel that great. I know - an obscure thing for a review. The hallways are almost always vacant. I got the impression housekeeping is not to be seen or heard; and with the rooms soundproofed, no one hears a sound from insdie the hotel. Other parts of the hotel... I've been to the spa a few times and consider it the best or nearly the best in the city. Morning breakfast is a bit of a letdown in terms of the variety of foods the PHS has on offer. High tea and the hotel in The Living Room is decadent and perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing HT of the vast majority of 4- and 5-star hotels where I've enjoyed HT. This is a a solid 5* hotel with all the trimmings. The hotel is particularly good, IMO, for 1st-time travelers to Sydney who want to be in the CBD and couples who are staying in the city before leaving by cruise. Compared to every other hotel in Sydney, this is usually the most expensive. So, if you have the money or the points and feel like splurging, this is a good pick.Show More

A...The Park Hyatt Sydney is located at The Rocks, a historical district where the Europeans first settled - extremely convenient location, especially since Circular Quay is just a few mins walk away. Atmosphere is high-end, exclusive and you could feel the serenity once you step in to the hotel’s front door. The renovation is modern and discreet, and there is always a hint of luxury, wherever you go in the hotel. I stayed in the Opera Deluxe room, which was a complimentary upgrade provided by the hotel, by way of my Globalist status with Hyatt. The room was spectacular with the Sydney Opera House so close to you, which offers amazing views at sunrise, sunset, and during the day when the reflection is just at the right place. Everything was pristine in the room and worked as expected. Balcony in the room also allowed us to soak in the sun and relax when needed. Hotel staffs were all super helpful and professional. You could feel that they’re here to enhance your experience whilst in Sydney. Food was also spectacular. Breakfast experience was great - with a buffet style continental breakfast, and an order of a large plate. I’ve been to multiple Park Hyatt properties around the world. Without a doubt, this is the best Park Hyatt I’ve stayed in - one that celebrates its culture and embraces the use of locally sourced products / ingredients where possible, which is a true Park Hyatt experience.Show More

It's set in the best location in Sydney, harbourside in The Rocks only a five min walk to Circular Quay for ferries to everywhere and the airport train. We arrived with that shell shock of two days travel from the UK but our bags were whisked away and we were greeted by the friendly James from Hull on reception who made us welcome and delivered a complimentary bottle of fizz to the room as we'd mentioned it was my partner's big birthday treat trip. Thanks James! This hotel had an air of calm sophistication despite being in the heart of the action. We swam in the rooftop pool staring at the Harbour bridge, we had morning coffee on our balcony watching the enormous cruise ships berth each day , and breakfast with the windows open to admire the Opera House as professional staff catered for us. The food at breakfast was divine with a buffet plus a la carte hot food options for a reasonable £30/Aus$60 It was fabulous feeling so connected to the Harbour which is the heart of this beautiful city We're already planning to return one day and telling ourselves it's OK the travel really wasn't too far !Show More
