What we received was something far beyond our expectations—it was pure magic. From the second we arrived, it was clear that The Plaza isn't just a beautiful building; it's a place where legendary service is alive and well. The entire staff deserves recognition, but we must single out the individuals who made our stay so perfect. It started with Freddy, the front bellman manager, whose warm and professional welcome made us feel like royalty instantly. We were fortunate to receive a fantastic tour from Ibrahima, the Assistant Guest Services Manager. His passion for the hotel is infectious! Learning about The Plaza's rich history and seeing its hidden gems with him was a true highlight and gave us such a deep appreciation for where we were staying. When it came time to plan our special anniversary dinner, Ryan at the concierge desk was a miracle worker. He was able to secure us a reservation at a fantastic (and very sought-after) restaurant called the Peak, making our celebratory evening absolutely flawless. We also have to give a special mention to our experience at the famous Afternoon Tea. It was made truly incredible by our server, Fabrice, who was attentive, charming, and made the entire experience feel so grand and personal. This culture of excellence is clearly fostered by the leadership, and it's obvious that the Managing Director, Sam Ioannidis, runs a world-class operation. Every detail is attended to. I even want to give a special mention to Rich Francis, the Director of IT. It might seem small, but having fast, reliable Wi-Fi for all guests everywhere in the hotel was incredible. It made it so easy to share our memories with family back home and handle a few quick work items without any stress. Our anniversary was made truly unforgettable by the entire team. I used to come here for very special occasions as a young girl when living on the East Coast, so it meant a lot to share the experience with my California-raised daughter over Thanksgiving. You’re never sure whether sparkling memories stand up to the reality after 30-odd years, but this afternoon exceeded all expectations. I had the caviar Imperial tea and my daughter the Holiday tea. Our waiter was a consummate host and professional - Kazi Jalal. Been at the hotel 20 years and I’ve never had better service. The caviar service was generous - enough for two to share, with all accoutrements and a generous helping of both blinis and toast points. Absolutely delicious. We had the chai tea, and Kazi was so thoughtful to bring hot foaming milk (we had shared how we loved chai in India). I had a white cranberry Cosmo that paired perfectly. The tea sandwiches were exquisite - two types of scones with lemon curd, clotted cream and mixed berry and lime jam that spread perfectly. By the time we got to the desserts, we were so full we literally could only eat one. And we brought them home. On top of this, we were gifted boxes of beautiful holiday truffles, and so many other generous treats we felt completely pampered and spoiled. It is a splurge, to be sure. The caviar tea is $240 p/p and the Holiday a bit less. Our total bill came out to about $600 so this is not a budget event. But if you are looking for a very special time — this is just beautiful.Show More

Khalid was great. After our waiter ended his shift (and he told us that he was leaving), we had last minute questions and requests, nd we were not sure to approach as everyone looked busy. Khalid was doing his thing, but he sensed our energy, and he made time to make sure he helped us. Not only did he help us with what we needed, he had a great sense of humor to make sure we wanted to come back again. When we were walking out, I asked about Khalid to another employee, and I found out that he was a busboy! What a shame to have someone with such a good sense of humor! I am going out of way to write this as an extra recommendation that Khalid should be considered for a promotion to be a waiter! I didn't get his last name, but we got there around Saturday 1:30 PM, sitting at the back of the hall close to the mirrors. I booked for cocktails and fine fayre menu as I thought the afternoon tea option a more quintessentially English thing than American. The table was booked in The Palm Court bar for 7pm. It was fantastic walking upto the hotel as there was no tourists taking pictures on the famous steps. I told the doorman I had a reservation at The Palm Court, he took us to the desk where we where sat down at out table. We both ordered White Cosmopolitans followed by 2 more as they where amazing! I had a club sandwich with fries, and my friend had 3 small wagyu burgers. The food was really good. The bar wasn't very busy at all and I think I made the right choice in booking after 5pm. I could of sat there all night people watching. Fantastic experience for kne who wants to visit the hotel, away from the crowds.Show More
