Arrived to the hotel around 11:40PM first receptionist told me it'd be a 30 minute wait because the group in my room before us was smoking and they needed to clean the room and get rid of the smoke smell. 12:30AM I tried checking in again and was told it'd be another 30 minute wait due to the room still smelling of smoke. At around 1AM I tried to check in again and the 3rd receptionist told me he was not sure if the room was available because housekeeping was not usually there that late and the room still smelled like smoke and they didn't have another renovated room for me. I asked him to check with his manager if the room was ready because it was already Sunday at 1AM and my room should have already been ready for my party by 4pm check-in. They finally gave us the keys to our room after almost 2 hours of waiting and when we got to our room it was not even the room we booked. I booked the king suite high floor and we were given a 2 double bed suite on the fifth floor. I did not argue it because they already gave us a very hard time checking in to begin with and we had a long day of travel. Upon check-out we were charged a smoking fee even though my party did not smoke a singular time in the hotel room and instead went downstairs to the designated smoking areas in the casino or outside to smoke. Manager gave me an inaccurate AQI report for the hotel room at the time of the previous guests' stay and told me she couldn't help us. Show More

I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas deserves a severe warning. On August 3, 2025, my wife and I returned to our room before our confirmed late checkout time of 12:00 PM to discover that a $600 Louis Vuitton cologne had been stolen from inside. The “Do Not Disturb” sign was on our door, yet a housekeeper named Darlene admitted to entering our room anyway. She was seen in the hallway near our room moments before we entered. This was before checkout and without our consent. I immediately reported the theft to hotel security. A staff member named Julian took the report, and I later provided the police report, proof of late checkout, and other documentation to the hotel’s risk management team. Despite assurances that the matter was being “taken seriously,” the hotel has since gone silent and has not provided any updates, resolution, or compensation. What’s worse, I have requested key card entry logs and security footage to assist with the investigation, but those have not been provided to me or confirmed as preserved for law enforcement. As someone who travels frequently, I’ve never encountered such a clear breach of guest security and lack of accountability from hotel management. Until the Rio addresses serious issues in their housekeeping protocols and guest safety policies, I cannot recommend this property. Date of stay: August 2025Show More

Ive been a patron of the Rio since its heyday in the 2010's. While I know its under new management, but I was disappointed with the minimal to no late night dinning options. While I know its under new management, but I was disappointed with the minimal to no late night dinning options. Vegas is known for being able to eat at 1am or later after gambling, drinking and partying....there was none of that. Also, every time I went to get a players card the line was massively long....so I ended up gambling and not getting any rewards while staying there. The pool is nice, but more shade is needed for the regular folks who cant afford a cabana. There was one clearly drunk fellow at the pool and there was no one who kept him in check. The room I had in the Impanema tower was renovated and I ejoyed it. Just wish the refrigerator was colder. The new set up of the room was great with the L-shaped sofa. I liked table to eat in the room as well. Gambling at the bar was ok....the bartender was upfront about letting me know what was expected of the ammount I put in and bet to get a free drink. But I remember the old days when you put in money and before you really played the bartender would ask you what you wanted to drink. I hope that the Rio improves because it was always a favorite of mine to stay and I want to give it another chance.Show More

Thats a shame as the smell still makes it feel dirty. That otside area around the hotel had garbage, this is a quick fix...the remodeled room was great but we got towels with holes and stains. Someone needs to.pay attention to those little things. The dinning was not great. No healthy food options in food court. What on earth s the big stage area with a couple small shops and food options? Its a complete waste of space. Put in an arcade for kids or something useful. The walk to the strip was 15 mins or less. Its super easy and even has a designated walking area. When I asked about walking, hotel staff made it sound like it was a long walk and I was crazy...its a nice walk and everyone on the strip walks so???? 15 mins is nothing. Over all I think they are trying, staff was nice. Remember....families, families,families. Make a family area orher then the pool. Great price for the stay. Show More
