I've been to Italy around 20 times and never been to Rome. This was my first time, and so the Cavalieri was the obvious choice. We were in a King Imperial room on the 7th floor, and being a Hilton Diamond member, had access to the 7th floor executive lounge. This was one of the most opulent and well-staffed and serviced lounges I'd ever been in with a stunning vista over Rome and the Vatican. Truly inspirational. The hotel exudes luxury and all the staff we interacted with in the hotel were excellent. Reception, concierge, door man, everyone was very professional and polite. Breakfast was excellent with a great array of choice and service – my wife enjoyed her daily fresh customised smoothie and the scrambled eggs. We dined the first night in the hotel and the food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and I had some great friendly banter with Imma, who chastised me for putting marsala brandy in my own homemade tiramisu – apparently that is not “true” Italian tiramisu. The hotel tiramisu was lovely. We had one foray to the Spa to use the facilities – not as large as I was expecting, but we enjoyed the steam room and jacuzzi. My wife liked the hotel gym. Note that the hotel is not close to public transport and you can’t walk sensibly down to old city – you need to use the hotel shuttle bus or get taxis. We opted for the latter. I had a t...Outstanding Property in Rome!! I cannot say enough about this gorgeous Hotel! I am somewhat of a “Hotel snob”, and I have stayed at some amazing properties when I travel. This tops them all! I had a two room suite overlooking the pool, and the view was gorgeous with the city of Rome in the background. Views of St. Peter’s Basilica are breathtaking. The staff was extremely hospitable and greeted me as I arrived and ushered my husband and I to the Concierge desk where they offered Champagne and other beverages. We were briefed on all the hotel amenities, and personally escorted to our suite. Fresh flowers awaited us there as well as a bottle of champagne and other savory snacks. Everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable is provided. Rooms are beautifully cleaned and checked in the morning and again with evening turn down service. Staff is outstanding, and extremely helpful willing with securing taxis, making plans for your day, or with anything you might need to make your stay more pleasant. I did not want to leave!! This property is located away from the hustle and bustle of Rome, so is quite relaxing. They offer shuttle service several times a day to area attractions. Taxis can get you at any of the local sights within about 15-20 minutes. I cannot wait to go back!!Show More

We reserved specifically at the Waldorf, knowing it was 20 minutes away from the city center, so my daughter could enjoy the pool and spa amenities. Unfortunately the night we arrived to use the facilities we were told she could not use the spa because she wasn’t of age. When I mentioned I had emailed reservations confirming we were staying there for her 15th birthday to use the pool and spa and they confirmed it would be available, they could have cared less. Just shrugged their shoulders saying no she had to be 16. It’s a jacuzzi she was going to be in with her mother. They could have made an exception or at least shown some empathy, but instead made her uncomfortable to the point she just preferred to go back to the room. I regret booking a stay here. This was her first experience in Rome and it started off bitter sweet thanks to the cavalier’s pool and spa employees, Stephanie specifically.Show More

As a Gold m...It was 35 Deg C and the city was mental with crowds. We loved every minute of the Vatican, Colosseum and more... but this hotel made it all come together. First, the breakfast is AMAZING. As a Gold member we received it complementary and it was out of this world. From the freshly made juices (you pick your fruit and veggies and voila!) to the coffee, breads, hot foods and more. Even pancakes for the little dude and the staff could not be nicer! super helpful and kind. All overlooking the beautiful pool. Speaking of which - the pool was incredible! HUGE! Cool! and DEEP (note for non-swimmers this is not for you as even the shallow end is deep - although there are a lot of pool noodles to help). We spent hours in it and met fabulous people from all over the world. There is a kids pool too and one day they had this huge blowup water slide thing which was epic! our 11yo beyond loved it. The food and drinks at the pool are expensive but worth it for a treat. The gym is also OUTSTANDING and showers spotless (we checked out and spent the afternoon and then showered at the gym/spa and it was perfect). LOCATION: We walked to the Vatican no problem - it was a 20ish min walk down hill. We are city people and found it an easy walk with sidewalks... there are a few restaurants close by for dinner - one fabulous pizza place (al 384) but MUST have a reservation. And there are supermarkets for drinks and such. ROOMS: are HUGE and perfect for 3... We had the side without the good view but nice sunset - but request the view of the city as it is out of this world. OVERALL - our only regret is that we couldnt stay longer. we will be back!Show More
