The atmosphere was quiet and very pleasant. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious well decorated and equipped., and the place was spotlessly clean. There was a bit of road noise despite the double glazing, but then my room faced on to the main road. The hotel itself was very quiet. The service was excellent with polite and delightfully friendly staff who went out of their way to try to help me locate a belonging I thought I had misplaced. Joy, your name is so appropriate. The amenities were also excellent with a laundry, pool and gym provided.Show More

Bed is comfortable and bahtrooms have been updated. As with many older hotels the location and type of electrical outlets are not really suited to those who travel with a lot of devices. Be aware there are no lifts and the stairs can be daunting (see photo). While friendly front desk staff are happy to carry luggage I am glad I didn't have to face the stairs in bad weather. Breakfast buffet is good but see my separate review of the onsite "Tudor's" restaurant.Show More
