I had the best time at the Sheraton in New Orleans. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were amazing (huge shout out to Chris in the bar, Tamara the security and Cara in the lounge). T...I had the best time at the Sheraton in New Orleans. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were amazing (huge shout out to Chris in the bar, Tamara the security and Cara in the lounge). The room was very clean, bright and welcoming. There was coffee available, good wifi and a lovely shower. The sheets were luxurious and the pillows so comfortable that I had a great sleep every night. The location is excellent, it’s about 5 minutes walk from Bourbon street, close enough to be a short walk, far away enough to avoid the noise. Additionally, the hotel is a 10 minutes walk walk to a shopping centre and the aquarium. It’s very easy to go on a wonderful walk beside the Mississippi River. Next door to the hotel is the Selzac museum - it’s awesome, a great diversion for 20-30 mins and totally free. The hotel gives you a card that entitles you to a free shot glass - I would really take this up (I was sceptical that it was truly free, but it really is). The bar was very lively and the drinks were reasonably priced (cheaper than outside the hotel). The bar staff were incredibly efficient and knowledgable (Chris and Roy) and the cocktails were very good value. On Friday night there as a DJ who spun tunes. The lobby is lively during the day with families, cheerleaders and business guests coming through the doors. At 5pm ish there was a live food stand every day I was there (coffee and beignets, Mexican food, margarita, gumbo) to give you a free taste of this amazing part of the world. The gym in on another level! It is a full, professional gym that I would expect from a high street gym. Lots of cardio machines, weight stacks, yoga mats, dedicated toilets and changing rooms. Outside is a small pool for relaxing and looking up at the hotel. Closes at 9pm I believe. You can order room service there. There is no guest laundry which is a shame, as lots of people I spoke to said they would have appreciated the opportunity to pack a little lighter. The receptionist said that you can go to the hotel opposite and use their facilities, but I wasn’t sure about that. The only thing that I would tweak is the WiFi in the gym. The usual guest WiFi didn’t work, whilst the conference one did. Perhaps just sort that out please? I usually have recommendations for improvements for hotels, but I could not have been happier at this hotel. It gave me everything I could wish for. Everyone was lovely and had an incredible sense of humour which really lifted my stay. I would 10/10 stay there again.Show More

I was there for a conference and listed as a “VIP”. I got the same room as prior years, no difference and had to keep checking on room availability. I had guests that were supposed to come to room for Happy Hour but didn’t realize the room would be a basic Executive Suite. Hallways are dark and depressing. Room had a wet bar with stains all over it. The view is great but windows are very dirty. Shutters are so worn out, they won’t stay open. Couch and sofa are extremely uncomfortable. Hotel needs a serious update. We are looking at other locations and happy to be a part in that. I understand why our attendees rated hotel so low last year. It needs a serious facelift! Club Level is nice however you can’t find a person to ask for a cup of ice. They put out stuff and dash. Other Marriott/Sheraton properties message and ask how stay is going…nothing. Just bare minimum in service. One plus is catering staff. Very friendly, hard working and courteous. Food is good. Also excellent bartenders! Good drinks, good service. The room is dusty, frayed and dirty carpet, wallpaper peeling in bathroom, mirror in bathroom, I cannot even describe, but falling apart, missing paint on walls, outside window is filthy, large stain on hallway carpet outside of room. While the location is good, the hotel is in horrible condition. There is a new GM as of October 30th, and she will have her work cut out. Hopefully they fired the previous GM. If not for my convention being held here I would have checked out immediately. Also, escalator under repair in the meeting room section, which will be an added nightmare for 700 attendees. I am hoping my organization is getting a large refund, and I am informing them not to ever book this hotel again until a full renovation is completed.Show More
