This was our 35th wedding anniversary and we prepared this trip well ahead of time. I called the hotel 20-25 times ( I lost the track ). We even had two open cases, so someone from the hotel could cal...This was our 35th wedding anniversary and we prepared this trip well ahead of time. I called the hotel 20-25 times ( I lost the track ). We even had two open cases, so someone from the hotel could call us. This was already insane. Well nobody called back. All we wanted was to make sure our room is on high floor and with the city view and that we would check in around midnight. We booked Premier Room, 1 King Bed, Non Smoking, City View. After arrival we waited 30 min in line, there were only 2 people serving guests. We did not get the room we wanted ( this is typical for this hotel ) - as per person who checked us in, the hotel is on average -20 rooms, meaning they are constantly overbooked. We were actually very lucky because if you read more comments, many guests had to go and find different hotel. Our room had no city view, it had a view for office building. I went down to notify the front desk. they said they had no other rooms. I asked for manager and was promised the room will be ready next day. Next day we had 2 messages on the phone that they have a room for us we booked. We went down and spent another 30 min in line to speak to someone. We were told that this room was given away by the manager and we have to stay in the same room. The manager on shift promised the room for the next day on 50th floor. I asked her how confident should I be to believe in her promise. She said "trust me". Than she offered to waive the destination fees and add 10,000 points to my account. The room was dirty, dusty, no fridge, coffee that nobody wants to drink, the bottom of the shower support was covered in mold, I found a cockroach but didn't say that to my wife, she would freak out, walls damaged and on and on ... We finally get into the room. It was not on 50th floor. It was on 43rd floor but I didn't want to waste my time staying another 30 min in line. There was a fridge. WOW. The fridge looked like a delivery from post war era. Completely beat up. On a third day I was eating the breakfast when manager interrupted me and said she wants to see me. I lost my appetite and left the restaurant. Went to the desk and she said that I have to pay for breakfast because the destination fees were taken away from my room but $35 restaurant bonus was also taken away. Complete brain wash. I explained the room situation and she ( Rachel ) said that she would double my points to 20,000 and will remove the breakfast fee. At the check out date, the lady refused to give me an explanation for the charges saying that I booked the room through the 3rd party. Well, we are home now, few days after checking out from that horrible hotel. My credit card was charged destination fees for all days and 20,000 were not credited. We are at our 60s and visited half of the world hotels. Never in our lives we experienced such a service. Absolutely rude people with no manors. Book your room anywhere else and stay away from that nightmare.Show More

Then it never got refunded back. They told me it was in their system to get refunded but it hasn't happened over 3 weeks after the end of my stay. I called and emailed multiple times to get it resolved without resolution. Other than that, the stay was mediocre. We mostly chose them for proximity to the Theatre District and a reasonably priced suite. The room was fine but dated and worn. Furniture had a lot of velvet, felt or other disturbingly absorbent fabrics. There were zero towel bars or hooks to hang things except for the shower door. They put a large chaise in front of the window, which got in the way and prevented us from using the windowsill as a functional surface. With so much square footage, the storage and furniture situation made it seem cramped and inconvenient. Whoever made these decisions probably never stayed there for multiple days. If I ever needed help with something, it was mostly a miss. No follow up, not answering the question that was asked, felt like cattle being shuffled along if I wasn't being condescended to. The $35 destination fee/room credit was the worst. The most useful place to use it was at the Starbucks for grab and go, except THEY DON'T LIST PRICES for most items so you have to guess, and they close earlier than their sign says. They also don't allow using the room credit at the Gift Shop, which is where you redeem your 2 free bottles of water. The door/security and housekeeping staff were all so kind and I wanted to tip them properly but I had a hard time with that too! I didn't know that my suitemate had taken the privacy placard down so they cleaned the room before I had a chance to leave out a tip. I even called the front desk to help me get a tip to whoever cleaned the room but they never followed up. The next time they cleaned the room, I put out a $20 very prominently but they didn't take it - is that hotel policy? Did I need to do something special? No one could tell me. I thought they would be a higher level of service but it was more DIY. Overall, it was just a frustrating experience.Show More

After some reviews I was a little nervous but I shouldn't. The hotel is on a perfect location. We managed to get anywhere by subway or walk. Endless opportunities to eat around regardless if you want something cheap or a sit down dinner. The room was nice, clean and tidy. Our room was on the top , 28th floor with nice views. The housekeeper left us plenty of coffee and towels and kept our room tidy every day. The hotel has a large amount of people traffic daily however couldn't fault its cleaning everything was clean and tidy all the time. The reception was nice and helpful we managed to check in and out quickly. They charge $35 daily which we used at the Starbucks. One thing about the elevator. Only 1 of the 3 was working.. however while it was a busy time- mornings and evenings and had to wait a bit didn't bother.. we were happy just people or views watch.. Seriously.. if anyone ever complains about this hotel perhaps have some own issues as there is nothing wrong here. There is something I'd mention.. not to do with the hotel.. but we were almost ripped off by taxi on the way to the airport on our way home. There is a guy by the front of the hotel he seems very legal in his suit and coat .. asking is you want taxi. Well.. we asked him. He offered the black cars .. very posh for $ 120 or the yellow cab for $ 90. We were happy with the yellow cab. Get to the airport the driver said $ 178.. showed me his clock as well. So we get to a little argument I said to call the police but they know you have limited time so he was pushing. Quickly he said .. ok..$ 120 so made.me think he is playing so gave him $100 cash and told him to go away before I call the police. Now.. I was brave and kicked a fuss but I think not everyone brave as me so be careful about this perhaps call the taxi via the hotel reception so if things go wrong, you can complain. Other than that.. just go for Sheraton Time Square. It will not disappoint you. Enjoy xShow More

After travelling over 20 hours from Australia, we arrived exhausted, only to be told they couldn’t find our reservation and this was after standing in line for three hours just to check in. Meanwhile, airline staff were given a separate line and allowed to walk straight to the front while regular guests were ignored. It was honestly disgraceful. One staff member in particular, Tyler, who was apparently the manager, was extremely unhelpful during the process. There was no sense of care, no urgency, and no attempt to make the situation easier for us after such a long trip. The lack of basic customer service was shocking for a hotel of this brand. To make matters worse, it took six weeks of constant communication and chasing Marriott to finally receive a refund for the night we couldn’t use. (and this was only after threatening the Attorney General) Rachel from the front desk even admitted that Tyler might have “been having a bad day” when he claimed he couldn’t find our reservation, as she eventually located it only after my repeated emails and phone calls. Although they did eventually process the refund, the amount of effort required was completely unacceptable, and there was no offer of compensation despite the fact we had to secure alternative accommodation for all 15 of us Overall, this stay was incredibly disappointing, and the complete lack of care or organisation at check-in left a terrible impression. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you value your time, comfort, or basic customer service, look elsewhere.Show More
